Hardly shocking, especially after he was told he was part of the elite forward of the team.
In all seriousness though, he was all but promised a spot in the top 6 this summer, only to see his minutes go to Wolski.

And people say I'm an idiot for thinking we need to get help and spread our guys out.
I barely saw Perreault at all last night. I didn't post anything but it was really odd. Matty is a good player, maybe a 3rd line career player but he still should get some ice time.
He basically read my mind here:
"The GM doesn't seem willing to change anything with regards to the situation. Trade me if I am not part of your plans"
I feel for Purrutu but he's got Backstrom and Ribeiro ahead of him. I think he can be a good #2 center on a crappy team like Yanic Perreault -(paging Joe B, is that a "no relation"?). But that just isn't going to happen here.
Now a proactive GM might recognize that we have a surplus of offensive centers and make a deal to move Purrutu for help on the wing. But it's best to protect our nuts and keep the powder dry. We're going to have a 10 year window for Cups!

Baha, you're totally right on this post man.
We've got so many players that can play Center it's ridiculous and not enough true wings. Each line actually has two centers if you look at it.
GMGM has no clue what he's doing and don't know if Ted will tolerate the Thrashers-like crowds in the 3rd.
Ted couldn't care less about the crowds in the thirds. They're not losing any beer sales and they tickets were paid for. He's not losing out on anything until the sellouts stop.

I was all for opening the offense up, but now im starting to think that there is merit to the "play hunter hockey for a bit and start opening it up/instilling the new system". The defense looks lost, both defensively and offensively. I mean JFS crashing the net in Tampa? Seems random at this point when they pinch and when they don't. I've been saying since last season that Laich belongs at 2LW, but I actually think that if the poor play continues we should roll Chimera-Laich-Ward out since they're not gonna crap bed defensively, can establish a decent forcheck and can cycle pretty well. I also think we need to give MP a chance, he always at least is hustling out there.
I'd say roll
Wolski-Backstrom-Ovy
MP85-Ribiero-Brouwer
Chimera-Beagle/Laich(when hes back)-Ward
Hendy-Beagle/MoJo(scratch him when Laich is back)-Crabb
