Also, what has Gionta said that you think was negative. As Dr Gonzo said, we need proof. You might be totally and completely out to lunch, and I think you just might be because Gio would never willfully say anything negative about his best defenseman as captain or otherwise.

and cost you 8 Mil a year...

OEL, Pietrangelo, Suter, Markov, Karlsson, Campbell, Edler, Yandle, Fowler, Letang are all doing fine without being physical much...

and they're all top pairing guys on P.O. (minus few exceptions) teams, except for Markov...

Diaz, Bouillon, Emelin and even Kaberle (especially Diaz) are, to various degrees, playing better than expected. In doing so, they are allowing Subban to relax at home in Toronto. Markov and Gorges playing 21-24 minutes per game also helps. GAWD knows a two years contract would be an insult.

I hope Subban is enjoying the games.
In HD.

And none of those guys are as complete a player as Subban is. He's the full package. If at some point he will cost us 8 million a year, then that means he has become the best defenseman in the league and I will gladly be willing to give him that. It means that we have the luxury to pair him up with a straight up defensive specialist, who Gorges is, and make those two guys our top unit.

and teams manage to make the P.O. without such players.

he'd have to be the best D on the team first. Wich he isnt when Markov is healthy.

The fact is Gionta really didn't say anything negative whatsoever about Subban. He said that he was concerned with who was at camp. Standard hockey player answer.

Here, Stubbs as usual nailed it (read from bottom to top for chronological order):

Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs
@rickthegoon Gionta's leadership is beyond reproach. He's not bashing Subban. He's concerned with #Habs who are at camp...

13 Jan Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs
#Habs players saw business of hockey close-up today with Gomez move. Subban's absence is another part. There is no hidden dagger. Please.

13 Jan Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs
#Habs Gionta was asked if Subban's absence was a distraction. He replied that pro players know how to handle business of hockey...

13 Jan Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs
But #Habs Gionta isn't going to waste time worrying about who's NOT on ice practising in a short camp. End of story. No controversy, folks

13 Jan Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs
#Habs Gionta is NOT hammering Subban, btw: Merely saying team practises w/ who's in the room. Gomez departure was a personal blow, yes...

13 Jan Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs
#Habs Gionta on Subban situation: "(Pro players are) able to handle the business side of the game. If you can’t, you shouldn’t be here" 2/2

13 Jan Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs

No argument here. Especially since he isn't playing and Markov is.

search a bit, you'll find wiseguy... he never said anything against the hockey player,

he made some wise crack about Subban not inviting any of his teammates for an exhibit in Toronto (a thing with Stamkos involve i think) and he said it was maybe cause they weren't good enough, and when ask about if he's seen PK lately, he said no since there was no promotion event in MTL in a while (Or he probably would have seen him if there was, i don't remember exactly.

I do agree it's all a matter of perception, you see the glass half full, i see it half empty, doesn't mean your not right, but it doesn't mean i'm wrong either.... Don't get me wrong, i hope i'm wrong, that PS sign soon and that everything is fine, but neither you or I can garantee that it is the case

I never really cared for Dave Stubbs in the past but he is a smart man. Very in-tune to perceptions

Yet people will still twist that however they want.

In HD.
Let me know the last time the Habs went a season without suffering a major injury on D, or even 2 or 3 or 4 injuries on D.

Yannick Weber and Frederic St-Denis, come on up !!!

could the reasoning be that he's the topic of 2 threads at the moment including one in the "trade rumours and free agency" forum?

That's the annoying reality with part of the fans and media in Montreal. We eat our young. We will often scrape the bottom of the barrel for anything that can be considered remotely negative about our young players. I suppose that's par for the course when considering it's a rather large fan base.

simple logic, 12 years old usually gets this : our current #1 (Markov) isnt a complete package since he doesnt have the physical thing going for him... so the other guy who has it and is a full package is by definition ahead of the guy not having the full package... he doesnt NEED to be, HE IS.

capish ?

that is unless he isnt really the "full package" (yet, we'll see in the future.)

A waste of time since you can't find anything that Gorges said about Subban that was negative about his personality, on or off ice play?

«Je ne suis pas sûr, a-t-il dit. On verra.

How dare Gorges say such horrible things about PK...Clearly he doesn't like him.
