San Jose has put up a 6 spot on Edmonton in the first and out-shot them 17-4.

Could be worse guys and gals.

this is edmonton's year!!! would be so great if they finished dead last and didn't get a top 10 pick.

Of course it's so, so early, but maybe Chicago and San Jose are returning to the form we remember. They've been impressive so far.

Colorado up 2-1 against the Kings. Come on, champs. Bring out the W.

EDIT: Also, I just checked and Patrick Marleau has two goals and an assist right now against Edmonton. They are up 6-1. Yet somehow, Marleau is only a +1.

Can anyone explain to me how this is possible?

For the same reason that Heatley, Koivu and Parise were all a -1 after each of them got 2 points in the 4-2 win vs Colorado.

How have I been watching hockey seriously for the past five seasons now and not know this rule?

I am so ashamed.

Steve Downie is out for the season with a torn ACL. I feel sorry for him. Seemed to really be coming into his own this season.

Hopefully the guy has a quick recovery.

Almost wanted to say something about it benefiting the Wild that he went down, but didn't want to get any repercussions.

So once he leaves Minnesota, Gabby finally figures out how to score on a breakaway. What a tool.

Gabby with a hatty.

That's the kind of goal scoring Minnesota has missed....prove me wrong Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, prove me wrong.

Healthy Heater or groin problem Gabby? Gonna go with a healthy Heater but would totally take the NYR version of Gaborik over Heater.

With Rick Nash feeding you the puck, you better bury it.
