You have to start learning to read between the lines.

I rarely heard so many negative rumors about a player. The guy looks great in front of a camera and with a microphone under the nose, but there is no smoke without fire,.

Or have a blind love for a player like you seem to have.

Subban is a tremendous player but he needs to calm down and think team first.

The team should have shown him some respect in the first place. They gave him an insulting 2 year term and followed it up with a laughable contract of 3 million per.

Why would he think team first after the team made it clear they don't appreciate or understand his worth to the team?

Right, see, I don't have a blind love for Subban. (Is this where I am supposed to call you a hater?)

I watch him play hockey, I've studied his stats, I know his impact and I'm not a rumour monger like others.

As for thinking team first, he is the epitome of a team player on the ice. His contract negotiations don't automatically mean he doesn't think about his team. Like Gionta said, there's business and then there's hockey, pros know how to separate them.

Really? Off the top of my head, I can think of at least ten Montreal players accused of drug use, **** and ties to organized crime. Extend the definition of "negative rumors" to cover reported locker room issues and you have about 95% of the team over the past 10 years.

Price was offer a two year term, so was Max Pac, so was others.... And don't tell me Price was not good and needed to take that, Max Pac hadn't provent anything, Gorges is half the player PK is, that may be true but it's not insulting. PK should accept the idea of 2 years but for the quality of player he is should be aiming for more money

Does PK , Don Meehan or Marc Bergevin said the contract to PK was for 3 millions per?

I don't think so, everything else is speculation nothing proven.....

Yep, heard that too. Said they're about $2.5M-$3M PER year away from a deal. Yikes.

What was PK offered? I do not know.

Bob McKenzie just said on TSN that Habs-Subban are 3 million appart and that he thinks a trade is almost inevitable now. If correct PK is asking for quite a lot.

Bob McKenzie just said he believes this will end in a trade. Habs want short term, PK wants long term. Also said they are between 2 1/2 and 3 million per off.

****.

And you are Claudine Crépin, Marc Bergevin's secretary or Don Meehan's secretary or PK's Dad and you know for a fact, with proof to boot that he was low ball?

And what is Low ball? what you think is Low ball or is there a paper somewhere that gives you a chart of when a contract turns to Okay to low-balling....

That's funny, I remember people on this boad saying Price was overpaid at 2.75 per. Honestly he had less leverage than PK does, he lost his spot to Halak that year, and IIRC Maxpac hadn't broken out yet. I think PK deserves a bigger contract at this point than they did.

So, (and yes this is a pure guess)

Bergevin is probably offering...$3M? And PK is asking for $5.5M, roughly?

Why not just meet in the damn middle, lol....this is the lockout all over again.

As for term, I don't think that's worth losing a player over, but that's my personal position and Bergevin obviously has a different philosophy.

Bergevin won't trade him this season if it is ever the case.... he will wait before the draft this coming june.... PK can sit home all year.....

Bobby Mac and ward think the gap is too far for a deal to be reached and the most probable situation is that PK is traded.

Did I hear this right? If so, it might be time for me to give up no this team.
