Russo speculated that he's automatically on the trade blog when he reported it earlier today...(or maybe last night)

I honestly only listen because I am too lazy to plug my phone in to listen to Pandora. But it was rough to listen to it.

I think Barreiro is an extremely smart person....maybe not the best when it comes to hockey but he's a great host. Only reason I shy away sometimes is the political talk he does from time to time but he runs a really good show. Common is Common...a respite from the 'sports sports sports is your whole life just sports' people that do sports talk. PA is the resident homer....he can get some great guests which would be the only times I tune in to him.

Otherwise, the only guys who are skilled in hockey talk would probably be Tenna, and the guests people have on (Gorg, Chorske, Lou Nanne, Russo Radio).

I like PA's calls of Vikes games, but hate his talkshow.

I don't mind the show because of how it flows. I hate the fact that this is a Viking state and they have no concept to hire on someone with some damn knowledge of the game to do any aspect of the hockey segments of their shows. I don't care what some Viking fanboi thinks of the sport because they always end up butchering what they are saying. Barreiro (thanks for the actual spelling) was trying to get Parise to say something he would regret. Even went forth to tell him to "stay away from Twitter." No offense, but F-YOU dude. I would love to have all of these players on twitter. It is the best way to reach out to fans of the game.

Who knows maybe I'm going completely overboard with it because I felt some of the questions were very good, but he kept reasking questions in a different manner to catch him off guard. Kept asking him about his work ethic, how he can handle making such mistakes like he made and all that jazz. But kept saying it in a different set of words a few questions later. The number 1 thing I took away from it is that they are fully aware people are already hitting the panic button

Oh goddammit. That is so like this organization. It's just like with Latendresse. Just gonna throw a promising young player away over imagined "attitude" problems that are really just inconsequential lingering contract disputes. Latendresse's departure left a gaping hole for a good power forward; it was sort of painfully obvious last night. I'm not saying Palmieri is Latendresse, but he is making big steps in his development.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but wasn't Latendresse's issue not coming into camp in shape and then ending up injured most of the year?

As for Palmieri, I don't think its the contract issue as much as it is not reporting to Houston.

I really liked Palmieri's game in Houston and in the exhibition game but not reporting was dumb because he was likely going to be one of the first callups. Kinda comes of as he has a sense of entitlement in my opinion...

In 2010, sure. In 2011, Latendresse showed up in shape and ready to prove himself, until he was injured by a reckless check. And they decided not to give him a QO to try and negotiate him down $700k for some reason, which (shocker!) didn't exactly make him want to stay with the team.

Not reporting was dumb on Palmieri's part, but he got over himself quickly and it's time to let bygones be bygones. Attempting to trade him would be idiotic and selling low, considering nobody wanted him when they could have him for free on waivers. It wouldn't have anything to do with his actual ability to perform, but just on "attitude", which in this case is basically code for "Chuck Fletcher's personal grudges."

Looks like the "Konopka Rule" isn't hindering him too much.
