Eager is one of the biggest tools in the NHL who can lose games for his own team because of his idiotic decisions. That's pretty impressive given he's nothing but a useless 4th line goon who plays 5 minutes per game. If there's one player who you should not feel bad for when something like this happens it's him. More than deserved. What goes around comes around.

What comes to the fight, I don't know, I just can't see a scenario where anyone would think Eager won that or even got a draw. Kassian clearly landed a huge punch right to the kisser at start. Eager landed couple of punches to the back of Kassian's head while they were falling but the biggest damage was already done. Generally one huge punch right in the face beats couple of punches to the back of the head, and that was the case here too.

In all seriousness; I hope Ben makes a recovery but maybe in the future he won't be so... Eager to hit our star players with intent.

Eager clearly puts Kassian down at the end and is about to have him at his mercy when the refs jump on. Kassian obviously lands the best shot but I'm not sure about his fist pumping action to pump up the crowd. In "real life" he would have been in a very bad spot before the refs intervened, no?

You don't ground and pound in a freaking hockey fight.

Yes, and you don't get up and put on a display like you've just won the belt in a hockey fight either.

Why not?

I guess players shouldn't celebrate goals either?

I think Kassian knew how hard he hit Eager in the face, It was his own fist after all. When someone drags you to the ground to escape its a win.

As for your {MOD EDIT} "won the belt" comment why dont you go win a fight and then tell me how you feel. Probably pritty pumped.

Jeez how sad and hypercritical.

Not justifying Eager, who is so bad he makes a guy robbing a Taco Bell look good. But calling it fairly.

no. Eager would not fight Rypien. We all know how that will turn out.

Ben Eager shatters the myth that you need a brain to have a concussion.

Don't kid yourself, Kassian won this one
Round 2 if it happens would be interesting

To be fair to Eager, he didn't do his homework, he obviously never seen Kassian fight before
He didn't realize that Kassian was a southpaw,
since Eager wasn't protecting his head for a punch coming from that side

Well, now he knows
