Not sure who have affordable back-up goalies but Phoenix may quickly be on the market for someone. I know Ottawa has three NHL caliber starters right now so have to think Coyotes will at least make an inquiry about Bishop. Any other teams to possibly watch?

Budaj could be made available if you could send someone back capable of sitting on the bench for another 46 games.

The way Nihlstorp played for Dallas, and with Campbell still the heir apparent, Bachman could be shopped.

You've already got one ex-Stars goalie, build a collection.

I think what you meant to say is that the Coyotes won't take on a 10 year contract to solve a temporary problem.

Ray Emery.

No, seriously, I think he would have a huge turnaround behind a team coached by Dave Tippett.

He wouldn't fit in as well as Smith does, but all of his greatest weaknesses would be covered up by the Coyotes' defensive system.

That makes ZERO sense for PHO to do that. They already have a num 1 goalie in Smith, so to take on Schneider which is a num as well is stupid. Especially at the cost of OEL. So what? Be in the same position as Vancoucer? Minus the Luongo contract?

Just about any goalie could probably have a turnaround under Tippett's system. That being said, I doubt Chicago moves him unless they plan on bringing Karlsson up (or trading for Luongo).

Bishop for a defenseman would make sense.

EDIT: I highly doubt he's worth Rundblad...

Yes, he needs to come back. Will throw in someone if it facilitates a deal.

So we turn two 2nd round picks into Kyle Turris and David Rundblad? That'd be some nice asset management.

For sure.

I was throwing his name out there because not only would he show a lot better than he does behind the Blackhawks, but he would come cheaper than everyone else mentioned in this thread.

To fix a problem that's only going to last as long as Mike Smith is(?) injured, how much does Phoenix really want to pay?
