Looks like the NHL roster update is now available to download.

Will check later.

Sucks I'm still not able to play with updated rosters in offline play. Not that big of a deal really since I mostly play online, but it sucks a bit to have old lineups when I'm having friends over.

If anyone has any advice, I'm grateful. Couldn't find the place to set rosters to "current" like in the previous versions.

Harding the back-up goalie on this week's SOTW team. Pretty solid card.

As for the roster update, Tarasenko now in the game. 81 overall with 4 1/2 star potential.

Well, I'm impressed EA almost got the Wild lines right.

Well done on this update.

I kinda have to laugh how they've added Schultz and Tarasenko into the game as 81 overalls right off the bat, yet they've kept guys like Yakupov and Huberdeau at their original rankings of 64 and 69 overall.

They need to fix that stupid glitch where all prospects only have a 60 faceoff rating and 70 poise rating. No matter how much better they get in Be a GM, those ratings always stay the same. I had Galchenyuk at 88 overall and his faceoff rating was still only 60.

So i decided to go back and finish off Deus Ex: Human Revolution yesterday. I remembered I was pretty close to completing the story, so I thought I could get it done. I do the last few missions and end up at the final boss last night, and failed 3-4 times before I gave up. I had no idea what to do at all and just kept dying over and over. The actual boss sits off in a corner, and you have to do a few puzzles and kill a few underlings before you get to her. I could not figure out how I could handle killing everyone before her.

So today I decide to do a quick look up on what I need to do. The game was fun, but I started it over a year and a half ago, if not further back. It was time for me to complete it.

Turns out, if you have the right weapon, you can walk right up to the boss and shoot her once to kill her. I just so happened to have that gun. So instead of launching the fight against all her minions, I just walk up to her, shoot her, kill her, and get the achievement.

I go and look at the chevo and see that there is one for seeing every ending to the game. I save my game, choose one ending, quit, load up my save and choose a different ending, and so on for all four endings. End up getting the achievement. Also got another one for completing the game.

So for about 5-10 minutes of work, I got three achievements worth 125 points.

Nice.

So that means that in the last 2-3 weeks, I've completed Portal, Batman Arkham City, Lego Batman 2, and Deus Ex Human Revolution. Lots of fun to be had in those games. I recommend all of them. Arkham City was probably my favorite.

A few Wild-related notes on the roster update:

Gustafsson taken off of UFA and added to the Wild

Endras added (not sure why since I thought we no longer have his rights)

Gunnarsson added

Guys no longer with the team such as Christensen and Foster FINALLY off the Wild

What?

Also, I hate how slow EA is with the roster updates. In order to have Gunner and updated rosters for teams, I'd have to start Be A GM all over again. For the 2nd time. Ugh.

Hey Guys, I've been a closet Wild fan for quite some time now and for a change of pass I started a NHL 12 Wild dynasty about a year ago and have been posting on another site. I've tried to make the dynasty a pure hockey Sim with realistic sliders and trades. I also imported a custom roster rebuild that balanced the players and added key prospects. I'm now just entering the 2014-15 season and was wondering if you guys would like me to post my updates? I'm a stat junkie so I recreated a Depth Chart and a Cap Chart to manage the team so it's pretty visual what I'm trying to do.

Let me know if this is something you'd like me to start a thread to share. I also wouldn't mind some advice on managing the team (to resign Heater or not) sort of thing.

I know in NHL 12 there was a David Rundblad in Ottawa's system at 73 overall B potential, and a David Rundblad in free agents at 70 overall A potential.

This was there until you did a certain roster update, but I remember always grabbing both and then dumping the lower-ranked guy after 2-3 seasons for a 1st round draft pick. Worked like a charm.

Traded Robbie Figren, Tyler Graovac and 2014 2nd for Curtis Glencross and Markus Granlund. Pretty happy with this.

I would just dump Brodin, Coyle, Setoguchi, and Dumba right off the bat. They all have great potentials but none of them ever grow much and in Seto's case, he actually gets worse. Dumba went from a 58 to a 63 in three years, Brodin went from a 71 to a 75 in three years, and Coyle went from a 69 to a 74 in three years.

I would recommend keeping Falk and Granlund though since they actually get good, although like all prospects, Granlund's faceoff rating never gets better than 60.

And there's no 78 overall Brodin in free agency for me so it must just be you.

That's why I upped Brodin's potential from 4 stars to 4½.

Falk was claimed off the waivers, which was a bit of a gaff from me. That being said, D is not my worry right now.

Current line-up (as of November 2013, with everyone healthy):

Parise-Koivu-Heatley
Glencross-Granlund-Horton
Clowe-Bouchard-Brodziak
Beach-McMillan-Mitchell
Fontaine, Chapuit

Suter-Spurgeon
McDonagh-Gilbert
Stoner-Scandella
Prosser

I still have Zucker, Phillips, Coyle etc in the system, but they're in the AHL this year.

I've done the following "major" trades:

Clutterbuck

Carl Gunnarsson

-----

Setoguchi

Nathan Horton

-----

Sami Vatanen
Carl Gunnarsson
Nick Palmieri

Ryan McDonagh

-----

Tyler Graovac
Robbie Figren
2014 2nd

Curtis Glencross
Markus Granlund

I think I don't need to make any trades for a while. Mind you, I acquired Clowe, Figren, Chapuit and Cheechoo plus couple others off FA last summer, so I think I've done quite well with my assets. Now I'm looking to trade Clowe so I can fit Fontaine back into the line-up. For some reason, he developed into a 79 OVR sniper over last summer and he has an insane shot (99 wrister power and 90 accuracy or something like that).

Hey... I got the game (NHL 13) about a month ago. I am super duper bad at it but it would nevertheless be cool to play against/with you. So far I've only played it offline with my friends. Is it possible to play 1vs1 online?

I'm waiting right now for a couple of friends who may or may not arrive at any minute. After that, I'm free. You'll see me when I sign in tho.

And yes, it's possible to play Online VS unranked games, so that's nice. You should also try EASHL (EA Sports Hockey League) and create a player. It's like Be A Pro, but online. It's great.
