Nick Palmieri on the block?

Quote:
Nick Palmieri reported with the Aeros on Tuesday in Milwaukee after initially refusing to report after he didn't make the Wild last week.

Still, after last summer's contract dispute with the Wild, there's a very good chance Palmieri is on the trading block.
http://www.startribune.com/sports/wild/187984831.html

Please note that the Wild have actually 50/50 contracts so you can trade him for a player only or a pick to free up a contract spot. Then again, I have no idea what Fletcher would be looking for.

He has currently 9 goals, 10 assists in 36 games with the Aeros.

Any interest for this player?

Won't take much considering he passed thru waivers last week. That being said he should make for a solid fourth-liner in the near future. NYI may want to take a look at him.

I wouldn't mind the Ducks to pick him up cheap. Could be an option on our 4th line or at least for Norfolk and if I am not mistaken he is the brother of Kyle Palmieri?

he just cleared waivers, which means that no-one sees him as nhl-ready at the moment.

He does have some value in that he has cleared waivers, and therefore can be stashed in the AHL now, but it wont be much (see h. karlsson traded for a 7th).

given that he obviously wants to go to an organization where he has a better chance at making the NHL, i'd say 5th-7th round pick to someone like NYI (i mean this as an organization lacking much nhl-ready depth, no offense isles).

He's kind of screwed right now because the wild played him enough games to prevent group VI free agency after getting him from the devils, so really minnesota controls his future unless he can convince another team through his play to claim him on waivers next time he's available (likely at the start of next season).

No relation to Kyle that I'm aware of, although I recall Marc Crawford erroneously referred to them as brothers during a broadcast last year.

Big body, but not particularly physical. Okay hands around the net. He got a decent amount of top 6 time for the Devils during 2010-11 due to injuries but probably not good enough to be a top 6 guy under normal circumstances. Not sure he's well suited for bottom 6 duty either.

He used to play with Kovalchuk in NJ, and didn't stick around long.

He was also apart of the "over payment" For Marek Zidlicky.

Grinder at best, but as a NJ native I wish him the best.

I had high hopes for him, and he looked good when he was called up for the first time about 3 years ago. He played for us full time halfway through the 10/11 season when we began that insane run. He played opposite Kovalchuk, and actually looked like to be promising. Came back for us last year, and sucked. Floundered around in and out of the minors.

He's changed a lot in the last 11 months since we parted ways with him. Out of control hair, and an out of control beard! He was clean cut looking with the Devils just like Lou likes them!

Ah okay thx. Yeah I was referring to that TSN broadcast. I just assumed it was correct as I don't recall someone correcting Crawford.

At that rate of change he may get to Chewbacca status about the same time that Burns does

Is it me or does he look a little similar to Parise in his clean-shaven pic?

Must be either the haircut or the Devils jersey, because face-wise I don`t see it.

Best trade for the Wild. Part of the trade was getting Praise and Suter. Zids contract was a hindrance. Without his contract, Minnesota had just enough cap space to sign both.

I would take him for Ben Lovejoy.

Yeo and Fletcher are familiar with him, it'd give the Pens 7 NHL defensemen, instead of 8, with the team right now. That and I think he's in a situation where he needs more playing time and he likely won't get it in Pittsburgh.

I'd actually probably do that trade if we could somehow get rid of Prosser too. Lovejoy would be a decent 7th d-man once Scandella is healthy enough to join the line-up. I know the Wild will likely bring Brodin up but I'm not sure if he's entirely ready or not yet.
