Centers win most Selke trophies. That said, i would pass up him getting a Selke to see him play in the play-offs. I think i would rather have him signed long term if it looks like we will slip into the play-offs closer to season end lol. (Kiddin somewhat).

ha-ha kulie set the bar Carlyle will hold him to now.

3 assist game for Kulemin in a nice bounce back game for him.

He looked like his former self yesterday

Sorry, if my post has been misleading. I was more talking about the level of his defensive play than him actually winning one.

Kulie had really nice hands through the neutral zone today. He was calm with the puck, skated really well and seemed to have his confidence.

No, he needs to play well to silence the crowd.

What do you expect, people praising him when he's playing like crap? It's called accountability. When you are playing well, people will prasie you. When you play like crap, they will show their frustrations. That's how it works.

It's funny I was talking to a senators friend of mine who valued Mac over Kule and after I explained it he admitted he didn't watch as much to continue the conversation and agreed.
Next night he gets 3 assists. He was excellent in the offensive and defensive zone, he'll come around just yet

I wasn't doubting your thinking either bro. I was just interested in the post, and the Selke idea is by no means out of the question either because he's a winger was not my intention.

Have a look at the points the wingers that won the Selke put up in the link i posted in the above post. Kulemin under Wilson didn't have a chance to win in that system, even with thirty goals.Carlyles system lets say lends to the chance for the team as a whole to be much better defensively (as we have seen). Kulemins 30 goal year is not a must for him to win the Selke, but if he did put up a pro-rated thirty goals this year, and played like he did last night for the most part,he would have as good a chance as any i think.

I wasn't doubting you,so i'm sorry actually.

The wingers that won,Kulemin could be mentioned in the same breath with every day if he plays like he can.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now, can we just wait and see how he does even over the first 10 games. Not 3 games into this already shortened season.

The Kulemin from last night is the Kulemin we need to see every night, even if the results don't always reward him with points. It was great to watch him play last night.

The drive to the net looked unreal. Great speed and no fear

It was almost as if he wanted to show Shero how he could look on Malkin's wing? Seemed to have an extra step, Malkin brotherly rivary?

No, that's how it works for people without a memory, informed experience and reason.

Nikolai Kulemin has been a solid performer at every level. He experienced tragedy. It happens. Some Leafs fans held back, noted and repeated thoughts stemming from that tragedy as a clear reason why his play dropped off so drastically. Other Leafs fans decided bathwater and baby made zero sense on this defensively challenged squad and wanted him gone.

Memory, informed experience and reason are completely alien to the latter. And to the former, that they employed those three tools and can sit back and offer a smug "I told you so..." is also "how it works."

Glad to see a little light come back into the kid's game.

I've seen enough of Kulie to know what he is capable of when he puts it all together.

His point was that the Selke is a Centreman dominated award. It's not that wingers can't win, it's just harder and less common.

Get over it.

he asked a question so I answered it. the best defensive forward will win the award; position does not matter.
