Super super cheap and low key.

Next to zero food options though.

Great is you want to get pissed.

Take a cab.

I have the same Issue in Transcona... I usually go to Tavern but the sound is crap and its really not made for watching sports. BP is way too packed on game days. So if anyone has any suggestions for this side of the city lemme know

Unfortunately they are having a hard time on weekends to the point of probably closing on Sundays. They're doing fine with the weekday crowds as enough students go by to eat but it's pretty harsh on weekends.

I'm not a huge fan of the food there, but I work across the street from it so we end up there a lot. It's got a good atmosphere, and has good prices for sure. (something you'd expect across from a University)

That's right... I forgot to mention that. I actually heard they were closing for the summer too. Not sure if that's true.

My buddies and I usually head to a Smitty's, mainly the one on Pembina by Fort Richmond. Staff there are very friendly and even joined in on the conversation for my groups fantasy draft when we all whipped out our laptops there lol. I can never get enough of their honey hot wings.

Another great spot is Luxalune on Osborne South near Jubilee. Very good food and undoubtedly the best beer selection in town. I ♥ beer.
I never thought about Luxalune! They have 200 different types of beer right?!

I assume Dal's would play the games in Transcona. Been there once and wasn't impressed but its popular with people I know from Transcona.

Something like 150. I have snooty beer tastes, so I love it there.

Yeah, that's what I gathered. That's probably why I like it on the weekends, it's pretty quiet and chill.

I've always liked the 'za from Garbonzo's. Don't know if I've had anything other than pizza and beers there.

I work across the street from it (maybe Prot works at IG too? GET TO WORK ) and it's great going there for lunch. The decadent chicken pizza makes me drool.

Maybe we should have an HFJets meetup there for a game on the weekend some time and give em some business.

Hat Trix at the end of Portage is good, but too far for this guy. Can't believe 4Play is already changing again.

I'd be down for that. It's a 5 minute walk/stumble from where I live (Wolseley), so that's an added bonus.

Heh, for some reason I always thought you were an out of town Jets fan. Not sure why.

I've never hit up Luxalune, been meaning to check it out. I have tried their Farmery lager, thought it was pretty decent.

The MET is hosting the official NFL Super Bowl party next weekend, hopefully it livens up a bit for that. Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders will be there as well.

I"ve been wanting to go check out the MET. I remember them saying they were going to essentailly ahve 3 sections in it, 2 loungy/bar type palces for watching the game and a "mixed use" cabaret style eating event center.

has anyone been in there yet? I'd love to go, i love seeing something done with the beautifull old buildings downtown.

mmm, beer.

150 or 200 types matters not, I've got to find this place and stop for a pint and look over the selection.

If you have a night to kill (and a wad of cash) you can take the world tour.

One beer from each country until you can't stand.

Beers are half price during happy hour too. I believe that is 5:00 til 7:00.

I checked it out before the opener. I thought it was nice, but nothing spectacular. As you can imagine its super open. So in that sense it creates a better atmosphere to watch sports. Food was pretty good too.
I got out of there well before the game started, so I didn't really get a sense of the type of crowd it attracts.
