Not a big fan of that trade but not lopsided enough for me to veto it.

I also tentatively accept that deal. Definitely an obvious winner and an obvious loser, but it's not super egregious or anything.

I'm pretty curious to why people think this trade is lopsided (i'm not sure in which Gms favour) looking at last years trades it is pretty comparable.

You're giving up the same as you're getting later. There's a big difference there.

It was nice dealing with you Nalyd.
I was reluctant to accept your trade offer, Nayld as I don't think you're giving up enough. Basically, all you're giving up is the 24 picks from 157 to 133 in order to move up (the first two swaps cancel). Then on top of that, you're getting a token swap in your favor later on?

I guess mark REALLY likes what's available at 69 better than what's available at 93.

Probably not draft breaking though.

The trade looks pretty lopsided on the surface, but with the way the tiers break down in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, I'm not sure that it is. I do believe that there is a major difference between 69 and 93, so I can see mark's reasoning, even if I do think he "lost" the deal.

Big difference from inside the top 150 to what was it 320 something?

Look at the upcoming defenceman available and tell me there is any good value there. (is it not obvious I would have had to select a defenceman) and once Park and Pilote got drafted I wanted to make a move.

This way I can get some better depth and a similar defenceman.

The real question to me is if the 157 to 133 swap ends up netting you a big difference in value. It could, or it could be a complete wash. The trade's fine, as far as I'm concerned, but I'm curious to see how it plays out.

I've been looking at the last couple years draft results and that too me is a big jump in talent for "only" 24 picks. You can pick up a guy who some may consider a top 90-100 player at 133. At 157 you don't have a chance.

Agreed. I just want to speak up now and not feel guilty later. Nalyd gets Harvey and Nighbor. BBS picking one pick later gets Beliveau and pick 59. Both do an equally good job the rest of the draft. If they met in the playoffs, would BBS have a 50% chance of winning? I don't think so. This trade may not have been vetoable, but I don't feel it was in the best competitive interests of the draft.

give the pick numbers or else the trade wont be approved , it is not our job to do so.

I HATE trades that boost a very key player (like the 2nd best player on a team) and doesnt change anything in the next few rounds.

(I vetoed prematurely because the trade confused me , there's still a big chance I will veto it but I'll wait for the picks number to judge)

Added this to the OP:

To make things easier on the trading committee (and the people updating the OP), please post the exact pick numbers that you are trading.

And his 3rd and 5th best players will be a spread of 25 picks compared to BBS. Some of you guys don't understand the importance of the 3-5th rounds.

Had some back-n-forth discussions.

To Boston: picks #63 (rd 2) / #255 (rd 8) / #575 (rd 18)

To Hershey: picks #43 (rd 2) / #620 (rd 20) / #789 (rd 25)

I had another pm but nothing further.....it's a go on my end, (I have my reasons).

That's brutal. I won't be approving this one... Way too lopsided.

Yeah it makes sence to give up 579 positions only to gain 20...

Thank you. At this point, the picks in the 20+ rounds are basically garbage time. So it comes out to:

63rd overall, average 2nd liner/2nd pairing dman, 4th liner (basically nothing)

for

43rd overall, nothing, nothing.

Basically, Hershey gives gives average 2nd liner/2nd pairing dman for a garbage time pick to move up 20 spots now. I think I'm fine with it.

im vetoing it.

the differance between players at 43 and 63 is more impactful on a team than having an average 2nd liner or not imo.

this is what you get for trying to boost a very important pick by giving up something very marginal. If you want to boost your 2nd best player better weaken one player of your starting line-up.

said my piece.

my vote is final.
