I would think so too, but no way Edmonton offers that.

Why not? You need a Subban more than you need Yakupov IMO. A top 6 C and a top 2 D are more important than another skilled winger. You got really good wingers. D? Nah... is Gagner good enough? Sure, but you could do a lot better.

The problem with Philly is the lack of cap space this year. According to Capgeek, they have less than $1M available now. So whatever you have to pay Subban this year, that salary has to be returned from Philly. If Couturier is the centerpiece, Philly would have to send either L.Schenn or Grossman back as well (assuming they add a D, I guess it could be another forward).

Granted, Capgeek does not have Pronger listed as LTIR money. Is that correct?

Definitely be interested, alot of people think that because the Islses management mishandled Nino for his first season he is ruined and is worth less than a 2nd round pick.

I was asked in the last thread "based on what" when I stated "I think" he wants to play in Edmonton.

Again, I cannot base it upon fact as it is what I think, not what I know.

I truly feel, based upon Justin Schultz, that players are viewing Edmonton differently. New arena deal, the young nucleus...something special is about to happen for that organization. May not be this year, but it is coming soon.

Again, my opinion, but I have felt for a long time, 6 months or more, that a deal with Edmonton for PK could get done. We will see..

Sorry if this has been posted previously:

Johan Franzen
Jonathan Ericsson (modified NTC, not really sure what it entails)
Prospect (what are the Habs lacking?)
Mid-round pick of some sort

I don't play enough NHL13 to be any good at this...

The biggest issue I have with it is including Petry.

And there is no way Petry is involved. In fact, I believe Petry will be the better player long term.

But it's a fantasy. No way in hell are we giving up Yak+Petry, let alone Yak.

Yakupov+Petry

Eller does not seem to be as highly regarded by the new management in MTL, and we could use center depth (and a replacement for Horcoff once he gets bought out in the summer).

I am an EDM fan, and I would do this.
I know probably alot of Edm fans want Subban for Yakupov but I just don't see tambellini doing it. He probably has alot of faith in his defense and in his defensive prospects.

Seeing as NYI fans all want to move him before moving Strome/Reinhart, and that includes before the alleged trade request.

I'm going to assume that it's because he's seen as having a lower ceiling. If Habs are moving Subban, they're going to want your top prospect, not your 3rd best prospect who has question marks.

you have no clue what you're talking about. MDZ played in the top 4 last season. Staal didn't play until January. And the only reason MDZ sometimes play on the 3rd pairing is that we got McD and Staal on the LD. MDZ cannot play RD...

Montreal would love MDZ stop trolling.

I don't think Montreal would walk away from any realistic offer sheet. If a team offered PK say $5-6 million per season i believe they would match.

I don't believe Petry will be the better player, but Subban is not a big enough upgrade on Petry to include Yakupov in the deal as well.

Edmonton offer sheets Subban on a 6 year deal @ $6.5M/year, what does Montreal do?

If we're willing to offer Klefbom (former first round pick) as well as a another 1st and 2nd, why not just put together an offer sheet?

This way we could be on montreal's good terms later on.

Id have to agree.
MTL definitely need a 1st line winger like Yaks, and the fact that he played with Galchenyuk in junior makes that deal even better.
