Oh my God. What a huge over reaction this thread is. Waste of bandwidth.

Even if he's day-to-day, I suspect Phoenix will just stick with LaBarbera and call up either Chad Johnson (Who'll probably turn into the next Mike Smith with Sean Burke's coaching!) or Mark Visentin to fill in as the back-up.
This sounds right. I wouldn't expect Phoenix to make a move for a goalie unless things went south fast for Smith(like needing surgery).

A shooter tutor could post .915 under Tippet. Phx will be fine.

Smith injured? That is a shame. He is such a class act and just doesn't deserve to have such a thing happen. I am sure he will be just fine.

If the injury is a long term one, Khabibulin would make some sense IMO. I think he is still good enough to play on a defensively responsible team and the Oilers have the means to eat half his salary/cap hit until he becomes a UFA this summer.

Good for both teams. The Coyotes can afford to give up a defenceman, and the Canucks blueline is lacking talent.

the coyotes cannot afford luongo, salary-wise. Are the canucks willing to retain a portion of his salary (and cap hit) for the next decade?

Bishop would make sense. Longterm and not really hard to get him.
Want Emery for free?

Ray Emery is a headcase. Try Steve Mason.

Jonathan Quick? I wouldn't expect the Kings to move him anytime soon either especially to a division rival and especially with the Coyotes already having a starting goalie in place.

Seems as though Smith is going to be fine. If he is out a couple of games or what not, I'd just ride with Labarbera and call up Visentin and give him a game or two if needed.
