Apparently people would gladly trade PK Subban for Prust and Bourque. Who combined make 5.8 million dollars.

Mark Guy, who along with Don Meehan represents Subban, confirmed the two sides will be meeting, though hinted that a deal is still not imminent.

The Canadiens have not moved off of their two-year proposal, believed to be worth around $3.5 million per season. Subban, meanwhile, is looking for a five-year agreement worth north of $5 million per year.

I have been in Montreal for more than 30 years. The Habs has always been my team. You are not going to tell me which team I can support. Are Habs' fans now taking the position that if you do not support the Habs' management team then go somewhere else.

We all know why they aren't labelled with those problems and Subban is. However, we really don't need this debate. People don't like to admit to it and it's best to leave their heads in the sand than deal with the true issue.

but their teams haven't explicitly stated that they want them there. Surely something must be amiss in Dallas and Denver.

But that's not the case, is it? Those teams want their young guys on the team, our team is no different. They want Subban in the line-up ASAP

Subban's contract demands are not unrealistic. Especially when you look at what premiere young D get paid across the league. Teams seem eager to lock them up. Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE HARD TO COME BY. But we don't want ours, no, because it has to be a BRIDGE deal. Why? No one knows. It's just a stupid principle.

Bobby Mac is still right as it's very close to the other numbers, but we're closer to 6 or 6.5...

And then you go off telling people they don't know the numbers?

You pulled numbers straight out of your ass.

You're taking the actual numbers coming from an insider and twisting them around just so what you chose to believe can make more sense.

I can do the same. Let's say the initial offer is actually 2.5 (instead of 2.75M which is even less than the 500K difference in your example), and that instead of 2/3 it's 1.5/2.5M difference.

Bobby Mac is still right as it's very close to the other numbers, but we're closer to 4-5M...Which again, makes a lot more sense as to it being ''fair value''.

Not sure why you are so dead set on PK being this greedy *****. Really, I don't get it.

Meehan wants to meet Bergevin this week to talk Subban. My guess is he's signed by next week. How frustrating is it that last year we were talking the possibility of having 2 #1 defensmen this season with a healthy Markov, and now we have to wait because baby Subban thinks he's Drew Doughty now.

Yup.

@Dave_Stubbs: And those who believe #Habs @PKSubban1 is demanding Doughty money? Absolutely not true

Kaberle has at least 10 years of pro hockey under his belt, and he got the stats too.

You dont get is for a very simple reason, not once I said P.K. is a greedy ******* or anything.

But since you want to believe Habs management is wrong so much, everyone who doesnt think that way is against P.K.

Why not, we quadrupled is salary after a okay year and the team finishing 15 in the east... you want to raise him and overpay a little on a 2 year contract, but never more than 3.5 per...
If he plays amazing defensively, ya you have to pay a lot more than the 4.5M because at that point you would be paying UFA years vs RFA years.

I agree with you, but the fact still is that Subban has attitude problems. Trust me you wouldve known if Benn and O'reilly were not liked in the room

Agreed...his problem is that he has an outgoing personality in a sport where personality is frowned upon.

On a long term deal at this point...it's a bargain for what PK Subban is and what he will be.
