Mixed feelings. He's obviously a great talent. I can't stand diving though. I suppose I'd hate Marchy if he played for another team. Although I don't consider him a diver as much as I do a instigator/agitator. Subban is just such a smirk *****. I'll always envision him turtling on the ice last year...will never be able to get it out of my head!
Can't fault him for wanting his when they're paying Kabrele $4.25M
I hear ya. But every team has their bad contracts. Just because they overpay for one guy doesn't mean they should overpay for the next. I know the article says they are 2-3 mill a year apart. I'd like to know what he's really expecting. 6 mill? I'm guessing they are offering him 3.5-4.5? He's worth 5 mill per for 3-4 years imo. He must be asking for 7+ per.
The Canadiens would be crazy to let him go. He is a the one thing every team always is looking for and that is a puck moving dman. I don't like the kids attitude, but I would live with it if he was a Bruin no problem. How long have we been looking for a puck moving dman? Since Bourque left. I think we now have it in Dougie, but it took like 11 years to finally get him

I can't lie, I love the fact they have to deal with this mess
Did he really say that.. I like that.
I must admit that hes proved what he can do. I'm not sure why they wont commit to a longer contract for more than 2.5, 3.0mil
Common you can't deny this defensman has crazy talent. And he is still learning..
I would like him on the Bruins, but there is no chance of that happening considering we already have our guy DOUGIE! DOUGIE!

Habs have a unique talent but the kid hasn't had a HUGE season for a d-man yet. Hasn't cracked 40 points. I think that the core of his game is solid - my feelings are the same as Looch's in that I'd hate Marchand if he was on another team in likely the same way I currently despise Subban.
They need to keep him - IMO. I think the kid is a quarter and right now that team needs quarters, not two dimes and a nickle.
This might be an unpopular opinion. I understand that side of it, too.
very good question. Not sure what they would be looking for in return but I think if you put him on this team with Z and Bergy leading by example he will stop with most of his crap and just be a player.
Of course this all depends on what he is looking for in $$$$$. It would have to be a sign and trade.
If the Canadiens were my team, I would want him traded out West for something comparable. Too much baggage and drama, which the Canadiens have had enough of in the past few seasons.

No way I'm dropping Boychuk or McQuaid or Ference (and undoubtedly someone else to move salary) to add that yapper to the Bruins. The next time I see him throw down the gloves and step up for a teammate will be the first. Yeah, he's a good defenseman. He doesn't walk on water. I'm just enjoying some Habs schadenfreude right now.
I don't think Subban at a huge cap hit is a great idea for a poor/mediocre team. Montreal would be that.
I do think his game and skill set are excellent for a good team that needs some extra skill to put them over the top.
I do think he'd be a great fit in Boston.
He plays for a fanbase that expects its players to dive I don't really mind his antics despite getting more than a little pissed when he pulls them against us. In a spoked B he is not going to dive much more than Thornton (our worst diver) or Marchand.
I doubt Montreal gets a return worth trading him for. They'll have to pay the guy. They should just do it no reason to drag it out.
If we want him we should draft Jordan this summer.
I can't see our PP sucking for long with PK and Dougie.
Do they want Subban as one of the faces of their franchise, or don't they?
If yes, then start negotiating a contract that looks like one a franchise face would get.
If not, then trade him.
It may actually be past the point of no return for Subban/Canadiens... Personally, I think it was foolish of them to fight for an unrealistic contract. Should have made their decision long ago.
I like a lot of what Pernell does, I also dislike plenty of his tendencies. I don´t mean any smirk or smarm, either...I watch the weirdos from time to time these days because they lose a lot and that makes me feel good. Last season there were a boatload of times when Pernell was making dopey late-game decisions, I mean Corvo-level head-scratchers. He also seems to have swallowed the fanboy kool-aid, and thinks that because he´s on the first pairing on one of the worst teams in the NHL he´s an elite player; he´s not. He is superior at some things; his north/south skating (for a d-man), his powerplay point shot, and his open-ice checking (once in a while). His hockey I.Q. and decision making are nothing special, his antics are, at times, cowardly, and his even strength numbers are what they are, you can check them out.
I think he´s much more prattle than practice at this point, but to answer the question I do hope the weirdos re-sign him, because it makes for great theatre when he plays the Bruins. As to whether he´s really that important or game-breaking a piece for them....MEH.
EDIT
Mr. Make-Believe, is that Tony in your avatar?
I wouldn't trade a damn thing for him, because I don't want his clown shoes near this place.
I think Coach Julien, Peter C, and Cam Neely wouldn't allow that too take place, if lets say he were to become a Bruin. Coach Julien would instill that Bruin discipline.
