I was very surprised he did that. I never really consider him a "dirty" player till he played with the Pens. He is one tough guy to fight though and he has a good slapper. Asham will fight either Shelley or Sestito I am sure of that. I think it was against the Rangers last season when Sestito had 3 fights in one game.

Maybe with the Flyers having so many injuries and people out Lavy will just have the team crashing the net and playing more basic hockey. We can't usually beat the Rangers with a healthy team so maybe this will change it up!

Nope. He's going to look like a stud.

We're going to lose.

4 or 5 to 0.

Let's show some emotion earlier than the third period Flyers!

You kidding? We stink against backups. Especially when they're former Flyers.

Listen. I know that you guys play the superstitious thing for backups. But we're probably not playing Lundqvist. I'll take it.

Biron was God Awful for the Rangers last year after the first 1/4 of the season. He had to relieve Henrik so far this season and he's looked MUCh better.

FWIW, Lundqvist has not been playing well...right now you probably would be better off playing against him...

I know. I'd still rather play Biron though. Lunny owns us.

You haven't watched much Flyers lately. Our team outside of maybe 3 or 4 players look like a discombobulated mess.

I know this is last year but just to refresh everyone's memory:

Henrik Lundqvist in 6 starts vs. #Flyers last season: 6-0, 1.83 GAA, .942 SP. #NYR

Bryzglaov vs. #NYR last season: 0-3, 4.47 GAA, .847 SP. #Flyers

You still want to play Lundqvist?

I do not understand. Everyone knows that Lundi is Jesus and Bryz is a bust...wait, what, goalies are inconsistent? Say it ain't so!

Lundqvists SV% this year is .877 with a 4.03 GAA
Birons is .950 with 1.94

Henrik has not looked right so far this year.

I said that I know. But he hasn't played the Flyers. He played on a different level when he played us last season. Maybe that'd be different but I'd rather play Biron. Overall Lunny is obviously the better goalie. Biron doing better than Lunny will end eventually. Hopefully tonight.

overall i agree with you.

Im just an analytical person, so id look at the numbers coming in and say id rather play lundqvist right now. with that said i think he's only given up 2 goals which he absolutely SHOULD have had...and has made 1 ridonkulous stop. the other goals were all deflections from right in front. However, as someone who watches Henrik on a nightly basis, you're used to seeing him stop shots other goalies do not.

So it's not that he's looked bad...it's that, he hasn't looked superhuman...he's looked like your every day joe schmo goalie.

Is it really superstitious when it happens all the time?

They clearly want to rest Hank since they played last night and don't consider the Flyers a real threat so they're comfortable playing their backup

Bulletin board material!

More of a coincidence to me. But it does make me uneasy. Either way, no goalie owned us more than Lunny last season.

12:21pm Biron taking shots from healthy scratches (Steve Zipay)
11:58am 'Henrik Lundqvist not on ice for #NYR AM optional skate, so expect him in net tonight vs #Flyers. 11 skaters and Marty Biron on ice' (Pat Leonard)

yeah, when henrik doesnt skate in optionals it's because he's playing that night.

Anyways, I can't really wish you guys luck since clearly I want you to lose, so instead i'll wish both our teams...no more injuries.

how's that?

Flyers are the perfect team for Henrik to get back on track against.

Le sigh.

Well, my dad got tickets last minute to this game from one of his work pals. First game I'll be going to in over a year, so that'll be nice. Hopefully the game is somewhat close at least.
