John Gibson won't be with the Ducks for another two years at least probably, but I think he's the best U20 goalie prospect in the world. He just confirmed that at the WJC.
Fixed that for you. But McCoulmn was one of the best U20 goaltenders in the world too. Now he's having a hard time staying in the AHL.
Out of these teams who has the best goalie prospects and which one of them will be a backup or starter soon
Toronto
Tampa Bay
San Jose
Pittsburgh
Phoenix
Rangers
Islanders
New Jersey
Nashville
Montreal
Los Angeles
Edmonton
Colorado
Chicago
Calgary
Buffalo
Winnipeg
Why is Montreal here ?
Our goalie prospects are Robert Mayer and Peter Delmas.
So, basically, we don't have any goaltending prospects.
LOL you are severely underestimating Gibson. So, basically his entire career has been a hot streak? Ummm no.
How am I underestimating him? I do think hes a hell of a prospect, best goalie prospect in the world? No. Still think he has number 1 written all over him. I personally think Markstrom and a select others are better than him. That is not underestimating him in the least. Everyone takes this tournament way too seriously honestly. Stamkos didn't exactly set the tournament on fire and yet became arguably the best sniper in the NHL. (I can list others and others on that list to continue this.) A tournament with different teammates, may of who you have yet to even play on the same team with. A short tournament at that is no indication of whether or not you have the talent to make it to the next level.
The next Crosby could be playing for Germany for all that we know and just had a horrible 7 or so games. Even the best WJC (Lockout WJC) team wasn't exactly filled with guys that made it to the show. Potential is a fickle thing, and cannot be judged by a mere 7 or so games. No matter how good nor how bad they are in said tournament.

Who is referring to just the WJC's? I'm referring to his play, well basically everywhere. Take a flight from Florida and check out some Kitchener Ranger games and you will know why people hyped him so much even prior to the WJC's.
Bring your winter jacket though....it's pretty cold here right now.
The Gibson WJC hype machine is so strong that people don't realize that guys like us recognized his skill and performance before the WJC's. Some of us have been raving from as far back as the OHL playoffs where he was posting terrific numbers and stealing games for kitchener while facing 40+ shots a night.
I can't speak for others but to me this performance was pretty expected if just a bit above expectations. It just reinforces what I've been saying since last spring, that Gibson is one of the top young goaltenders outside the NHL.

I'm still amazed at what he did in the OHL playoffs last year.
Hackett isn't even top 5. Gibson is in the top 3 with the other two.
Hackett isn't even looking like the top goalie prospect in our organization right now. Kuemper has been outplaying him and has earned the starting job over him in Houston and Gustafsson has been a stud for Lulea.
I've been high on Mrazek ever since he started playing for the 67`s. I didn`t think he would turn out this good, but he was a very good Jr goalie. I think Lehner is above the rest though by a lot. I`m also a Sens fan so there`s that...
1. Braden Holtby
2. Robin Lehner
3. Jacob Markstrom
4. Jonathan Bernier
5. John Gibson
Begs the question if Holtby and Bernier under 50 games, but having played nearly that should still qualify (I think they should) as prospects, but...that's my list.
HM:
6. Andrei Vasilevski
7. Dustin Tokarski
8. Jack Campbell
As for Subban's inclusion...I don't get it. Great looking style, PKs brother, but...A Top 5 goaltending prospect? Maybe Top 20, but not Top 10, no way shape or form Top 5.
I think Dansk can be mentioned too. While his CHL play this season has been lackluster, he is the latest product of the Brynas IF goaltending coach who coached Markstrom, Lindback, and Lack.

Tampa fan here:
Tic isn't playing so great right now, some fans even start to think Janus could be the more ready of those two as he is playing brilliant as a starter in the KHl (2,10 GAA). So I wouldn't rank Tic in the Top10, around 20 seems to be a better fit in my opinion.

IMO Tampa, Phoenix and Colorado have the best goalie prospects out of those teams listed. I like Phoenix's stable of goalie prospects, not so much Visentin but I do like Mike Lee alot. Jon Gillies has impressed me as well in Calgary but his ETA is 3-4 years at least.
To answer your question, I'd take the Islanders and Kevin Poulin or Tampa with Dustin Tokarski. Nashville's Jeremy Smith should get some consideration too for a backup spot but not til next year.

No, as of now he doesn't belong in this thread at all.
