I might have sat Jackman for a night. Either way, it's not like any of the defensemen with possible exception of Shattenkirk have been lighting it up so far.
Not happy with Cole sitting, he has looked good so far, Id rather have Russell sit out. Curious to see what Redden can bring, although Im not optimistic. Im hoping for us to come out fast tonight, we have had a slow start to every game so far and we need to come out banging. Hope we get the win, ill say 3-2 good guys.

Not happy about Cole sitting either, but if Redden isn't so great, then having in Jackman provides some assurance.
Redden needs to get in a game and there are no "easy" opponents against which he can play. The West is good top to bottom (almost).
Very interested to see Redden's debut and hoping he turns in a solid performance.
I'd really like to see Perron have a good game. If he does, it would greatly improve our team discipline as he's the one who's been hanging out in the box too much. He's shown flashes with stick handling, but it's time for him to return to his form from last season.
Blues 3 (Schwartz, Perron, Shattenkirk)
Preds 1 (Erat)
Curious to see Redden, but I have to admit I kinda feel bad for Cole. I hope he's not in and out of the press box all season. I wish he could get some consistent playing time for once.... He needs it and that's the only way he can show us what he's got and also to get better.
Hitch probably won't sit his boy Russell but I'd rather do that. Oh well.
Cole has pretty much been the best dman in my eyes, so far this year. Covered up for Pietro's dumb(out of character, mind you) mistakes very well and has been firing the puck through the defenders. Or around them, I don't think he's even come close to the net, but at least they aren't hitting defenders and bouncing out of the zone like a lot of the other point shots that I've seen.
Cole is not a guy with confidence issues. I agree that consistency will help him, but I'm not against having a youngster watch from time to time. Plus, the Blues need to see what they have in Redden. I thought since Cole was good against Nashville, it would be good to play him again, but I don't think it will be an issue.
If Redden isn't so hot, Cole is more secure. If Redden is good, that's good for the Blues and might create competition. If Redden is bad and they keep playing him, that's when we can complain.
They're playing 48 games in something like 99 days. Either the lineup turns over, or the players will be totally gassed when it matters most. I'm sure the players understand that.
Best of luck tonight. Can't tell you how excited I am to watch Tarasenko again. That kid is special.
Hats off to our team. Wish you weren't in the central so I could cheer for you.
Thanks! I've always been a secret fan of the Preds. You guys are in our division so I can't out right cheer for you but I have much respect for Nashville.

Anxiously awaiting tonight's game, another cracker against the Blues!
Can't wait to see Tarasenko again after he played so well against us last time, curious to see if he is just as noticeable tonight (gawd i hope not!).
Stunned that Cole is sitting for you guys... stunned. I thought he was fantastic in the last match-up between our teams and from what I saw from your game against the Red Wings (1 period) he was just as impressive. Very surprised.
Nearly all of us do not want Cole taken out of the lineup and he was probably the biggest question mark going into camp. It's funny how things work out sometimes.
Let's sit Cole and hurt his confidence. Don't like it
Kind of an overreaction, don't you think? Its just one game at this point. They just played 4 in 6 days, I don't think sitting this one out is going to stunt anyone's development. Rather, he may learn something by seeing the whole ice for a while. At least I hope that's how he uses this time.
We have to see what Redden's got in order to figure the line-up. I'm sure other guys will sit for a game here and there, too.
The appraisals of Cole's performance the first three games are all over the map. I find that interesting, but it also suggests to me that a lot of fans are watching him emotionally and not entirely objectively.
If I have a player who sits a game, if that shatters his confidence I'm not so sure I need that player on my team long term. I'd be more interested in a guy that is interested in the team's well-being, but quietly determined to come back with the best game of his career next outing.
I'll be watching this one. I have Perron on my pool and he is hurting me... lol. Here's hoping you guys go lights out on the Preds. Huge fan of your team. Definitely the team to beat in the western conference this year.

He's killing one of my teams too. I took a risk and drafted him pretty early hoping he would lead our team in scoring. Ehhhh.....he's got some PIMs!!! That's about it.
I'm also not thrilled about Cole sitting, but there's the other side of the coin, it's a good idea to get Redden in there so he has a chance to jell with the team and we'll all see what he has left.
