Not really, i'm being honest. I'm willing to put my biasm aside and honestly am not excited to watch college football in the near future after this season. The SEC wins every year, even if we didn't get in I would be just as upset that the SEC repeated.

There are plenty of things about ND I don't like. Michael Floyd, for example. The **** cases. The Catholic religion. Alot of things, i'm not defending the university here or have a biasm for Te'o.

You don't win SIX Emmys covering **** stories. Jeremy Schaap is one of the better journalists at ESPN. Why do you think he gets the job like this?

If one person that wasn't Oprah Winfrey was put to interview Lance Armstrong's "coming out party" it would be him.

If you watched him in the past you would know.

There is FAR more evidence that would support/suggest the conclusion that Manti T'eo was in on this hoax and advanced it for personal gain/publicity, than there is to suggest that Ray Lewis is guilty of murder.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/...ate-girlfriend

how deep does the rabbit hole go?

-He claims he lied about meeting her personally because he embarrased
-That it just "never occured to him to visit her in hospital"
-That after he was told she was alive he didn't initially change his story because he was confused(he claims he was told she faked her death to avoid drug dealers)

I don't know how any Notre Dame fan can honestly say they don't find him shady in the least after this.

Granted, he didn't kill anyone and was likely duped in the begining. But he kept feeding the story to garner attention. It's simply not cut and dry that he is a victim and nothing less.

Speaking of which..

Quote:
Notre Dame grid star Manti Te’o quickly replaced his fake dead girlfriend with the real thing — a stunning Indiana college student, according to friends and the couple’s Twitter feeds. Weeks after his bogus online girlfriend, “Lennay Kekua,” supposedly died of leukemia, the linebacker was keeping company with Alexandra Del Pilar, the 21-year old daughter of an Indiana cancer-center doctor.
[QUOTE][On Nov. 15, Te’o tweeted, “Always and forever,” and Del Pilar retweeted it. The next day, Del Pilar posted a picture of a colorful floral lei hanging from her rearview mirror, with the tweet: “Thank you @MTeo_5 for making my car smell so good ”/QUOTE]

[QUOTE][Te’o has said he only learned Dec. 6 that his previous online-only “girlfriend,” Kekua, never existed and was an elaborate hoax./QUOTE]

I don't know which is less interesting. This story or Lance Armstrong confirming what everyone already believed.

The guy is admitting he lied several days before to avoid embarassment. What would you do? Anyone would do the same. You wouldn't show up at the Heisman and be like "yeah I got duped"

You can tell he was covering it up then and not before. Look at the videos. The ones before that are he looks convinced she's real. These videos show he looks nervous and awkward. Not sure what to say about "Lennay Kekua".

Cmon, man..

Just as I (kinda) suspected as more info came out. He was a victim at 1st and then played along with it for a little while afterwards. But I'm still not entirely convinced we're being told the 100% truth. The story has changed a lot from the initial report to now. From both Te'o himself and outside sources.

Plus it's still really weird that he never attempted to meet "her" or see "her" after the car crash and leukemia.

It's whatever though, I don't even really care anymore. At best, he was extremely gullible, for believing she was real as long as he did. I mean apparently her voice was played by 3 different people, 2 being men, on the phone and he never noticed a difference.

I also think if he didn't play for Notre Dame that this story doesn't get this much hype and attention. (Just like his Heisman candidacy.)

Hahahaha congrats teo on becoming the biggest ****** in sports. You suck bud, and so does the absurdly overrated school you play for.

My unbiased opinion of course.

Sorry, the "anyone would do it" defense doesn't fly with me. It is still a lie.

It's real easy to sit back and say you were going to tell the truth but ...

He didn't. He wasn't honest at any point when he could have controlled the story and thus the perception of his honesty. Now he's only being "honest" now that he's caught and that isn't worth a whole lot.

If T'eo IS the person he claimed to be and that the media propped up ... THAT person would have been honest before he got in trouble.

End of story.

Is he a bad guy? I really don't think so. He's young and clearly some degree of dumb (the degree seems to be the question).

But he wasn't the image he fostered.

He sure as hell isn't a saint and it's really hard to buy him as a victim.
And yet he will continue to try to play those roles and plenty of media are lining up to make excuses and perpetuate that.

How did he not realize he was on the phone with a dude? For over 1,000 hours as well.

Wasn't it two dudes, a young woman, and maybe a small girl?
anyways the most baffling part is the 4 years and 1000 hours spent. Most people would tire of the prank quickly. Not to mention, apprently they were doing the same/similar prank with a few other victims as well, it's claimed.

How could he get away with it, though? Tuiasosopo, 22, has had dramatic training, plays in a Christian band and even auditioned last year for the television show "The Voice."

"Come on, Hollywood does it all the time," Grimes said of his client pretending to be a woman. "People can do that."
For 1000+ hours? Someone faked a voice for that long, with no other corroborating evidence and the mark never got wise to it.

The more that comes out about this saga, the more it seems like the people involved were complete morons or, naturally, in on the whole scheme.

Jim Rome is playing some of the voice mails that "Lennay" sent.

Even knowing that it's a guy speaking, it still sounds like a girl.

Can someone give me a reason why I should believe that these voicemails are even real, and not something they made over the last day or two?

Funny you say that... as soon as I posted that, I heard a caller on the radio who works for ATT. He said you can like pull something out of the phone, pull up the file in a computer, and modify the date. Not something I'm familiar with personally, but he said it's not difficult at all to do if you know someone that is familiar with the area.

Just a random guy calling in, and that's a terrible way of describing it... but the way he described it at least had me convinced and the 3 radio hosts he called into, well convinced as far as it at least being possible.

Watching clips on CNN

His story is always changing

Skeptical

My favorite is when Katie flat out asks "Are you gay?"

"No...far from it"
