Honestly, I would quit if I was Timmins. Consistently finding talent only to watch them perform for other teams.
exactly.if i had to pick any two pieces from our roster right now as core guys moving forward it would be pk and price.throw in max pac and we re lookin good, cause you need to have a stud in every position.

As for him against SJ, well, he's an offensive player and a rookie playing his second game. I don't think that is proof that he isn't a team player TBH.
I believe it was in the loss to Canada that he mentioned it. It was in the 3rd period when he said Yakupov was trying to do to much I forget the actual words but it was to the extent that Yakupov was trying to be bigger than the team rather than trying to be part of the team.

I'd believe that he said Yakupov is trying to do too much. But saying he is trying to be bigger than the team? Just doesn't sound like MacKenzie. I'll take your word for it since I don't remember it happening.

Still, 1 game does not a "non-team player" make.

Even if he is so....enigmatic!

I've heard of it...i've heard media and fans refer to it.

But this isn't what i'm refering too.

There's a big difference between a 'hometown discount'...and a player refusing to be paid what he thinks he's worth

Hockey fans are just...awesome.
I thought it was hilarious that he stayed around to give away his stick after an embarrassing 6-3 loss.

Ridiculous...
So my opinion is ridiculous, what do you think should happen? Should we give him 8 million a year for 7 years? why not he's worth it. Give him a percentage of the franchise, free Molson products for life, his own room on the road and seperate all the m&m's and make sure he is taken care of.

Rarely the case with top tier performers. unless they take the discount to stay with a highly competitive team. Which Montreal isn't.
PK's home isn't in Montreal, and he's young enough to still not have a "home" (aka no family)

Also, those "hometown discounts" are becoming rarer and rarer, mostly because of the nature of the "profit maximization" theory that's being implemented as an universal ideal in humans and businesses alike.

Huh? I don't get what you are saying ? Is Mcdunaugh better then markov now? Is PK already a Leaf?

Is it possible that the truth lies between ???
Do you think Gorges would have stayed had the Habs not offered him what he signed for? He signed a very rich contract for a player of his talent, 3.9M for a player that was never drafted

But do you think he signs that contract if the Habs would of offered him 2.5M?

I mean, sure...players take hometown discounts, but if you're not near what they think they're worth. I'm not convinced they'll be so inclined to take that discount.

Again...2.75M for Subban is way more than a hometown discount....

You are missing the point. Hockey players, like everyone else, want to get paid. Subban is hardly the first.

Hell, Dryden was in the same boat.

Wasn't saying PK should take one, just that they exist.

I wonder if we could trade him for John Scott?

What I think should happen is that both sides give and take...

If the Habs are dead set on a 2 yr deal...that's fine, but 2.75M for what is your best dman is an insult. At least come in at 4M, at the very least.

As for Subban...he's going to have to wrap his head around the idea that he's going to have to sign a bridge deal if he wants to stay in Montreal. Not necessarily because it's fair, but because that's how the Habs have operated as a business. He'll have to trust that in 2 years time, they'll put their money where there mouth was 2 years prior.

The real kicker is that he seems to think we'd actually have better chance of winning the cup with McDonaugh as 1st dman rather than having Markov.

Depends on what he signs. If it's a 6 year deal, it won't help.

It scares me how people believe word for word what is written on twitter or in the news paper.
