jarick what about 8th seed EDM w roloson stealing the show & i think would have won a cup but the other team ran the goalie at least 3 times knocking him out of the game! 1989 vernon was the reason edm lost imo. ducks w guigere; several teams have had success w HOT goalies. im sure my friends could list a dozen. cheers. ps broduer & roy were hotter than the sun when they won cups.

Yep still don't like him, he just has fewer games to go on his multi-hot and cold stretches like he is so good at doing more so then any other goalie i've personally seen.

Was there a reason why Harding was playing tonight ?

Day off for Backstrom ?

Will they share the net 50/50

Back to back games, Wild usually play one then the other.

Harding is playing better though, so Harding should play again Tuesday.

Because it was the 2nd night of a back to back.

I'm pretty sure Yeo said he'll go with the hot goaltender.

They've each played one game. Let's not get too reactionary here.

coming off a shutout (no matter that Dallas wasn't really dangerous at any point and that the team had another day to get their **** together and play better) and a day of rest i don't see why Harding wouldn't play tomorrow.

I can´t believe that after one single game people actually are jumping into conclusions that Harding is ultimately better now than Backs. Wow.

I'm certainly not. But Yeo will go with the "hot" goaltender and can't get much hotter than a shutout by a guy who is riding a wave of universal well-wishing due to his illness. Not that they should need it, but it'll squeeze that much more effort out of the guys in front of him, too. he wins again and I think Backs will come in during the second night of our next back to back.

just speculation--i'm sure there's all sorts of stuff in the background we don't know about. Doctors could have told Josh to lighten his workload to keep his body from over stressing and we might not see him until the next back-to-back. who knows.

That means a max of like 2 or 3 shots, not really the best drinking game IMO

That first game had me really worried about Backs. He looked confused and out of sorts. Hopefully that clears up because I've never been genuinely nervous about his play until then.

Lets be honest about Harding's shutout....it was against Dallas and he faced a pretty low shot count. Had really good D for the majority of the game and faced very few scoring chances.

I'm sure it all got better with his performance against Nashville?

No but really he did fine the entire game but that fumble was just.. well let's call it unlucky.

I think a good goalie also gives the rest of the team the confidence to play and not just worry that every failed play will end up in a goal against. It happened in Anaheim last season, as soon as Hiller started playing well again during the second half, the team's mood and courage completely changed to the better.
