God damnit. Not what I want to hear lol. I just want to enjoy a nice drink and watch the boys play. I have some local bars around me, but don't have that atmosphere.

won't win. that is a guarantee. I would go but was down for the car show last night. would rather watch what will surely be an embarrassment from my house by the warm fire.

Fair enough, just some good natured ribbing on my part. I'm definitely nervous but to count the team out before they hit the ice isn't my style.

Here's where coaching really comes in. Bylsma is able to get the Pens playing like an elite team even when the two big guns are out, can Lavy do the same with the Flyers? My thinking is no, but I'm still excited for the game. Sure, our chances of winning are even lower now, but they're far from being non-existent. So, realistically, I don't expect us to win, but it's going to be cool seeing how the guys do out there nonetheless. Plus, never a bad thing to see how those on the fringe are performing.

yes tonight is the perfect storm for a win.

I'm a believer.
It was light years ago, but a horrible Winnipeg team had just two wins all season when they played the Flyers (2 wins in about 40 games, IIRC) in the early 80s. Flyers were second overall in points league-wide. Jets scored four in the first and won. Tonight will be a difficult challenge in any manner.

Thursday night, you should be good. It'll be crowded but nothing like the weekend is. I went down to watch Phillies a lot over summer and weekdays were always the best to watch there. Solid atmosphere and not as much of a frat party like the weekends.

understandable. with no hartnell schenn and briere and the team already struggling, sadly I don't see this one going too well. I'd gladly eat some crow though.

This is what Tim P., in an article, has for the first line:

Quote:
The new first line will feature Giroux centering Wayne Simmonds and Matt Read, we’re told.

Our first line has Read and Simmonds on Girouxs wings? That's just odd.

engage panic mode....

i can only envision 2 possible situations at tonites game..

either its a complete blowout starting early (most likely), or somehow the Flyers manage to play the game of the century and play like SC contendors..

i just dont see this game able to be played as a ave NHL game played between to equal NHL teams

Deal, as long as I can make liberal use of Fumbley McScrewup.

I'm surprised, with Giroux's emotional hysterics on Tuesday, not to have seen anyone post "Ginger snaps!"

if the powerplay can click once or twice and we can stay out of the box, we have a good chance.

Time for a few players to step up tonight...........Read and Couts in particular need to get their legs going and pick up where they left off last year.....During adversity like we are experiencing with the slow start, Harts injury, etc, a few players need to look themselves in the mirror and decide to take the bull by the horns and play hard, tough, inspiired Flyers hockey.........Need a spark tonight early !
