We just forgot how good he is. Completely re-transformed Montreal's PP and transition game. Very solid defensively as well.

4 pts in 2.5 games so far and is making Diaz look like a Norris candidate

The guy is just on fire. I wonder what kind of a season he'll have if his knee stays in tact. I forgot how good he was (or IS).

Hell yeah, he found his defensive game back too, and I can't wait to see our PP with him healthy and Subban's shot.

He was definitely one before injuries creeped in, hope he can keep this up.

I loved all the Habs fans that wanted to get rid of him and buy him out... I guess most people forgot the amazing hockey IQ he has. Even if he seems a little slower, he's still an extremely good D.

He makes our PP change drastically, basically night and day when he's on the ice...

Love his vintage Markov backdoor goals like he just made

That's 131.2 points extrapolated to an 82 game season.
Forget top 10. The thread should be: Who is Better Orr vs. Markov.

yah i was thinking about this before. no one forgets him, it's just the injuries are just so difficult to deal with. i think anyone would agree when he's healthy, if he isn't top ten, he is pushing it. He and Gionta are probably the only Habs I like.

If he stays healthy, its decent leverage against Subban. How long can Subban hold out for? Not a bias question, an honest one, I just dont know what the limits are.

Over the medium/long term, there are definitely more than ten defencemen I'd take over him.

In the short term, if Markov is healthy (which he is at the moment), there aren't that many.

68 games since the 2009-10 season.

Chill out. He's had a few good games.

Before his injuries Markov was considered an undisputed top 10 defenseman in the league on these boards. Now I'm being called a homer if I'm reminding everyone that he's still a top 10.

He's been our best player in all of the 3 games. Name me 10 defenseman that can transform one of the worse PP to one of the best in the league.

This is definitely premature.

That being said, he has been a BEAST so far. I could easily see us returning to having a top-10 PP unit as well as usual amazing PK unit.
