Of course our best shift was during the last 30 seconds.

We can't get any control, no set up or anything. We are scrambling. Our d hasn't been bad but our offense has been nonexistent. We have no one but Erat and sometimes Wilson who can carry it in and get a decent set up.

we had what? 2 shots on net that period... pitiful. We better come out in the second flying.

That's the thing. The D (outside of a few instances) has looked solid and effective. 8 shots allowed isn't too shabby, considering how much the Blues have had the puck.

The O (outside of a few instances) has looked discombobulated. While they probably had as many or more scoring chances than actual shots, the pressure never lasted more than a few seconds.

granted, st louis' defense is one of best in NHL. but our offense is anemic and it will be all season.

While not always a viable option, the rope-a-dope lure them to sleep with getting no shots on goal has worked for us in the past.

It's weird. Our offense looks weak, like a bottom 5 in the league. But this is pretty much the same group that ranked 8th overall in goals last season. A lot of the criticism we're giving them right now is similar to the beginning of last season. Was last year a fluke? Or will this group somehow surprise us over the long term?

It was bad he got his shot blocked, but wow what a defensive effort there.

We've got more than that. I'm blaming the scorekeeper. It's a low number, but it's not 3.

This is what's annoying. When we "clear" the puck, we're not maintaining possession. We're playing hot potato and just getting it out of the zone...chipping it softly to a Blues player, who just passes it right back in the zone.

Unfortunately that is both our biggest weakness and St Louis's biggest strength
