I seriously credit Gill and Gorges for Ovechkin no longer being a top-5 player in the league anymore. He has had a couple okay seasons, but those two shut him down and he was never the same again.
Well Markov certainly looks like an elite no1 defensemen right now. Oh and Diaz is very impressive, he plays with a lot more poise, confidence and strenght than last year. Could he become a top4 defensemen?
Overall the team plays a grittier style and controls the puck much better. I hope it stays that way!

He looks so much like Streit. I hope we get to keep our swiss player this time. Thank god Bob gainey is not the GM anymore.

desharnais and cole are playing much worse... im not worried about cole, ..but im rly not seeing this DD stuff, never have
i'm more worried about Cole.. DD has produced every year he's played hockey.. he played overseas.. could be timing.. could be anything.. Cole on the other hand talked about retiring.. and could be putting together an Edmonton like season.. seems awfully similar to how Oiler fans described him
If there is a video can you see if Diaz's shot went off Cole?
Maybe the stat trackers here suck lol
Just rewound my PVR. Cole wasn't even on the ice.
Diaz slapped the puck, Plekanec passed it to Markov and bam.

Yep. I've been calling this for years. The Caps looked absolutely astonished when their juggernaut offense could not get passed Halak. What I never understood is why Boudreau completely revamped their system into some pseudo-defensive hybrid. You ran into a hot goal. It happens.
