Yup. Felt like it was worth pointing out to maybe lend a bit of perspective to our performance in Chicago. There's going to be a lot of sloppy games this year due to tired legs.

We still look better than Tuesday night (not saying much) but I hope we just keep the pressure on Nashville.

This is probably a rookie question but what's the deciding factor for us to wear our 3rd jersey?

I saw a lot of that as well. There was (generally speaking) better puck management than last game, but the pass execution/transition still needs a lot of clean-up.

From what I understand they use them for bigger games. Division rivals, national televised games....If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

I liked Schwartz and Stewart's 1st period. Stewart just may be able to play in a Hitchcock system after all.

I know the preds are on the back end of a pretty tough few days but the Blues are starting to get their structure back. The execution is still a little off and we could still get a stretch of time away from that structure occasionally but I believe we are trending back to the level of play we saw last year and should be back there in a few more games.

Not a chance. The rigors of the schedule will prevent that if nothing else.

Love the lil tykes in all their gear checking out a hockey game. My first game at the old barn as a toddler was one of the most amazing things in my life.

It is basically when ever the team chooses to wear them there is no rules or anything about it. The Blues probably have some way of deciding when to wear the 3rd jersey, but it is a special thing for teams to wear those. Personally I think the 3rd jerseys will be worn a lot less than the last couple years they lost some of their luster when teams were wearing them for 1/2 of their home games.

I was under the impression that thirds could only be worn a maximum of 13 times in a full season.

Nice breakaway for Backes. Great defending by Weber.

In his defense, he had just blocked a shot from Weber.

Poor play to shoot it into Backes. Outstanding play to recover.

Yeah, which is where the "picks up fast" part comes from

Too bad we didn't really get to see that scrap. Would've been an entertaining one.

What makes you think that? He hasn't looked bad by any means, but I haven't really seen anything that makes me say "I really hope he's in the lineup next game!". What has impressed you so much?

Reaves is the only 4th liner I can score with on NHL '13, therefore, permanent roster spot.

He's a solid, experienced defenseman on a young team. Also has powerplay experience and a cheap contract.
Cole is still young and has room to improve as the 7th defenseman/AHL defenseman. Redden is also good in the playoffs, and this could easily be the year for the Blues.
