I'm no expert, but I feel like in order to do good things with the puck a good first step might be, ya know, actually possessing the puck for any significant length of time.

And this might make me immature, but I chuckle a little bit every time Pete says "[Preds player] taking a soft dump".

Great save by Rinne! You guys are really hard on this team! From one game to the next.... Everyone sucks! I guess that's the bandwagon? They have played 4 games in 6 nights and the first 3 were great!

6 shots in 2 periods...I think it's pretty justifiable to be a little pissed. I mean c'mon.

the first 3 were far from great. if this team doesn't improve fast, its gonna be a loooong, short season.

Yea first 3 games had extended moments where we looked like we do tonight. If something doesn't change we're screwed

We had this same problem during the playoffs. I think it might have taken awhile but maybe they've found a big kink in Trotz armor....

FWIW, I think 18-13-57 have been solid tonight. Not great, but solid. We've got about what we'd expect out of them.

Fisher and Kostitsyn can't hold on to the puck to save their lives. I feel sorry for Erat.

For right now, I'd put Erat with Wilson and Legwand and see if there is some offensive spark there.

Yeah. Bad D play, Fisher tried his best to get back, and drew a PS (I think it was the right call). Weber had an almost identical play on Backes and swept the puck without drawing a penalty.

The PS itself...Berglund looked like he knew exactly where he was going. Peks was about as frozen as the rest of the team has looked.

I wish we had the closure on offense we had when Kariya was here.

wow that's weird a penalty shot, on the same day a year later by the same player?

Pete and Terry say new line combos for the 3rd period... I'm expecting Clune to take the opening faceoff with Fisher and Gill on his wings

I think we have to come to the harsh reality that we are not anywhere near a contender in the central. St. Louis and Chicago are head and shoulders above us. This year really is a rebuild. While the offense is deep, it lacks gamebreaking talent. The defense only has two true puck movers, and one can't really be trusted yet to take top 4 minutes. We are realistically a fringe playoff team. I would be much more ok with us being sellers this year and try a quick turnaround next year with a high draft pick and some improved forwards.

Surprisingly, Wilson has been our best forward this season IMHO. I feel like Smith has been the absolute most disappointing one.

Oh dear God. We have an extra man out there and we can't hold on to the puck?

Remember all of the amazing late comebacks from last season's team?

They're down 2-0 right now, and I don't have one ounce of confidence in this year's version to come back from any kind of deficit.

Gotta resort to Josi to generate all of our offensive chances...

I'm just trying hard to not overreact- as the saying goes, you are never as bad as you look when you are losing, and you are never as good as you look when you are winning.

I can get as pessimistic as anyone, but weren't we doing this same thing last year? We were 3-4-1 and had no offense- (16 goals in 8 games)- and that season worked out just fine..
