You're really funny, in a good way, the one where you meant to be, rather than by accident (or worse)...

PS: Are you that great a gymnast/contortionist?

I don't know the OP, but that might be a language issue.

The vocabulary often isn't an issue.

But the grammar/syntax?

Very different story...

To think of it, the French "encore" may be translated either by "still" or "again", and it's a mistake that can easily be made.

Playing in the KHL has helped him a lot.

??? "Still" is correct. The poster is saying that Markov never was a top 10 dman.

You do know Markov was a 60+ point all-star D man pre-injuries right? You make it sound like him putting up points is something out of the blue. Now if you are suggesting he won't last the 48 games in the season, then you have more of a point.

I would personally just be happy he's playing like a top pairing defenseman. It would be a plus if he was just a #3 d-man but he's playing above that easily. That's a win regardless considering how long he was out.

Now, he might have been a top 10 d-man before the injuries, but guys like Doughty and Pietro weren't even in the league then.

Like I said earlier, Lidstrom was in the league, then. The point is moot.

And while I'm a bit unfamiliar about Pietro, Markov pre-injury is a superior defenseman to what Doughty currently is. He has his very elite stretch where he looks like a Norris caliber player, but his last 2 seasons aren't all that impressive, minus his play in the Kings' cup run.

Lets just say that after 3 games this season, he's been one of the 10 best D's in the league. Now lets see if he can maintain this level of play for 48 games. One thing is sure, he is showing that he's still a top pairing defenseman in the league.

Did not think he will look this good after watching him in the KHL. Hopefully he can maintain this form for another year

Markov was always an elite powerplay quarterback, but he wasn't exactly known for his shot. Now? Well it looks like he's been working on his slapshot from the point. Should be interesting to see how many goals he can notch this year.

I think Markov is undeniably a top 10-15 dman talent wise. His skill hasn't diminished.

The only question is whether the injuries will catch up to him. With the way Markov plays, real cerebral and outstanding vision, I don't think a lost step would hurt him much, if he plays.

I don't think his talent can be questioned, but his health most certainly can be. So far, so good.

No, not in the last 3 years he hasn't been, before that he was in the mix for sure.

Too early to say, but I do like what I see and I really hope he keeps this up.
So happy for the guy, I would have been happy if he came back and played decent as a 3rd-4th guy but this is just great.

Just of the top of my head are indisputably better than Markov, not to mention all the debatable ones. Slow your roll pal.
Canucks fan here. I lol'ed at seeing Hamhuis on the list. Absolutely NO WAY Hamhuis is better than Markov

Still pissed I missed him in my pool. Was taken just before I was going to. Here's hoping he stays healthy. Was always a top ten dman before all the injuries. Too early to say he's back there for sure because it's hard to say how he'll hold up, but he's a guy who shouldn't be too hurt by losing a step. Guy could run a pp in his sleep

He's converting 42.9% of his shots. Totally sustainable.

Let's wait until he plays a couple dozen games or so, at least.
