I don't think we should read too much out of this game about the Gals. They were seldom used due to coaching tactics and line match-ups and it's a road game.

They are staying in MTL for internal competition with folks like Eller.

My take:

-Markov and Diaz are playing really great on the PP
-Price is rock solid.
-The 1st line has a slow start. Still no time to panic.
-I really like Prust so far.
-5 on 5 we only conceded 1 goal in 3 games..and it was a meaningless one.

-I can't say that we are more exciting to watch than last year except on the PP.

-Gotta work on the discipline.

How many coaches can you fire over 12 months before GM job is on the line?

Totallllllllly. Four line team, man. Feels good!

...With a pretty good young player named Eller in the pressbox, too.

Oh and amongst the few good moves that Gauthier made....re-signing Markov was CLEARLY one of them as I mentioned at the time. Gauthier had no choice, Markov was the best bet we had at the time, and great news that he did. Kudos to Gauthier. Note the date...it won't happen often.

Fournier doesn't like White's attitude at all, saying he is too undisciplined for nothing.

I think Armstrong could lose his spot (not because he's not playing well but because Eller will play!)
Kinda hoping Eller takes White's spot.

It's a team made up of all sorts of questionable personalities. Their offensive blueliner Green is a meathead. Ovechkin has battery acid for brains. They've never learned how to win. They were coached by Boudreau and Hunter, two men who belong in caves still. I agree that a lot of responsibility has to fall on their General Manager, too... some moves that he has made haven't been very good at all.

Perfect textbook game on the road. I'm relieved to see that the last game wasn't a result of facing a physically weak team that was playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. Montreal played a great physical game and despite a meh 1st period, they were the better team tonight. It's crazy to see how much Ovechkin has fallen in 3 years, he's really not the same player. Anyway Price with another great performance, didn't give any rebounds and it's too bad he couldn't get the SO. I liked Armstrong's game tonight, played with a lot of heart and created things offensively. The 1st line played a bit better but it's not quite there, Cole seems disinterested at times and Pacioretty seems like he lost a step with all that weight he gained over the summer. Desharnais made a nice play in the third period but Cole got unlucky and hit the post. Gorges despite the goal was struggling in his zone tonight, couldn't get the puck out properly, would always end up on a Capitals' stick. Kaberle made possibly the dumbest play I have ever seen in my life in the first, he litteraly just shot the puck behind him as he was getting out of the defensive zone for no reason which resulted in a good chance but thank god it was Jay Beagle and not someone with better hands. I can't wait for Kaberle to GTFO when Subban signs, Alex Emelin - Andrei Markov, Josh Gorges - Raphael Diaz and Francis Bouillon - PK Subban is a solid core for defense, you can play those three pairings on the road without being worried of getting a bad match-up. Props to Bourque who had another good game, made a play out of nothing on Gionta's goal, put up a 2nd effort to get to that puck and it paid off. Oh and that vision on Plekanec's goal, Markov <3

Armstrong had one pretty decent shift, and I didn't really notice him much through the rest of the game which means he didn't really screw up ever. I think White's the one that sits.

White have been playing well but Eller need to come back and take his spot....Do we change the lineup after a second win 4-1 in a row?

Pretty confident Galchenyuk will stay in Montreal all season, same apply for Gallagher.

PLEASE SIGN PK AND GET RID OF KABERLE!!!!

He's right. On his first penalty, the whole shift he was doing shady stuff that were warranted penalties. I told my bro he'd get a penalty during that shift. Didn't last a couple seconds.

Replace Eller for White?

Dude, it's like replacing a hammer with a screwdriver. Wrong tool. Therrien made it clear what sort of players he wants on the 4th line.

If anything I have been most proud of our 3rd and 4th line. For the last few years i would cringe when i see them on. They have alot more energy and alot more jump now. And they spend most of there time in the offensive zone while being defensibly responsible. My old coach used to say, the 1st two lines makes the highlights, the bottom two wins you games.

Yup looking like a brilliant move even though the masses here hated Gauthier the guy set this team up for success and took ALL of the blame. It is a real shame most habs fans can't see the obvious and appreciate what Gauthier did.

Bourque is looking like a steal and Cammalleri is looking like a buyout he is that terribad. Kaberle is filling a need with excellent passes and powerplay work even if his partner can't one time to save his life.
