Sens taking advantage of a really light schedule early in the season. Getting these points against the playoff-bubble teams now are crucial.

I'm looking forward to seeing how we play against the Bostons and the Rangers of the league as we get deeper into the schedule.

Man Smith has taken his game to another level, looks so good, if only he didn't 2 stone hands with him he would have a couple of points now, but the line seems very effective.

Greening should have had 2 goals today.

I'm pretty sure the Panthers slump can be solely blamed on one thing: Peter Mueller's hair. He should get some advice from King K on how to control your "flow" because that thing is out of control lol..

I think Methot-Karlsson will be fine against Rangers, Bruins. I'd much rather that, than opposed to Western Conference teams. What worries me is the bottom pairing.

Lats has amazing puck control. So hard to get the puck off him but he needs to score one. It's only 3 games in so I'm not worried.

Only if we can convince him to wear the hat during interviews with the press.

Pittsburgh is in town on Sunday so we should get a better sense of where this team is really at. It'll be a tough game in Tampa tomorrow too. Lindback is a big upgrade in goal for them and their offense is DEEP.

yeah 4 points against florida, a team that could battle for the 8 spot, could turn out really crucial at the end of the season.

we got a soft start to the season, both in scheduling and opponents. Things get hectic now with 5-in-7 including the pens and caps.

Greening and lats could have 3 a piece. The 2 guys that crash the net. They just need more time.

Silfverberg was our best player on the top-line tonight. What a gorgeous shot that almost went in. Unlucky there.

Yeah I really noticed that in the third.

I just watched EK's goal too, what a stud.

I couldn't watch the game, so I watched some of the goal videos at NHL.com.

On the Karlsson goal, Florida is carrying the puck out, some Sens skaters are backing up to defend. Karlsson reads the pass, slows up, and picks it off. He has to wait for the last Senator to leave the zone -- who is that -- #3 Marc Methot? Eric made a risky play to intercept while Marc was recovering from being down low in the offensive zone.

This shows what I love about Maclean's coaching. He's anti-Hitchcock. He's not Tortorella. He doesn't tear a strip off of players or bench them for making a risky play. He encourages creativity and aggressive puck-pursuit and skating.

What, these bottom feeders?

In that EK goal. 99% of every other NHL dman would have just dumped that puck in.

I'm pretty confident management told Alfredsson to take it real easy due to the shortened season. There were times where he would skate for it when it was dumped in but skated back to the bench. Conserving his energy for when it matters most.

Karlsson was a beauty tonight.

Fun fact: Methot is second in points on the team after Karlsson, 3 and 4 points respectively.

Regin continues to be unbelievable on bottom 6 duty and got much more increased ice-time in the third. Condra went beast mode, S-T-A-M-I-N-A.

Silfverberg already is a rock star. I love this team. If Karlsson continues to trend upwards it wouldn't be a travesty to call him the best player in the league.

God I'm glad he proved me wrong.
