But it's a matter of opinion I suppose, I would prefer Rinaldo for those reasons.
We have Begin and Jackman even Comeau to some extent to fill that role we aren't losing because he don't have a guy to fight we are losing because he either can't score(Sj) or can't keep the puck out of the net(ANA) so if we making a trade and not upgrade either of those aspects of the game we need a good prospect or a pick.

Also I would try to do a bigger deal such as
Iginla + Gio + Butler/Stempniak
for
The Schenn's

The odds of a bigger deal happening is slim.

Rinaldo also creates energy which we could have used in 4 of those first 6 periods which could have helped. Also may have have the Canucks thinking twice about running Kiprusoff how they did.

Although I would prefer a Comeau/Rinaldo deal, but I was thinking along with Rinaldo we could get a mid round pick for Stempniak since he has an affordable contract and can provide some offense.

If we could score at all on 5-3 the Canucks would have paid the ultimate price, moving scoring talent for toughness seems like a Sutter move and a step back. The time is right for a big trade Philly needs defense and a forward we have good ones to move.

I also don't think trading scoring for toughness is a bad thing when the Flames have no toughness. The difference between this type of trade right now and when Sutter was in charge making that kind of trade was the Flames actually had toughness then, so he was trading skill for toughness it wasn't smart. But with the top 9 winger depth the Flames have currently and the lack of toughness in the bottom 6 this type of move would be very different because it would actually be moving a strength for a weakness, especially with Hudler returning Sunday.

I don't think adding toughness is a bad idea but that is a step overpayment for a guy that can play 7 minutes.

I wasn't suggesting a straight up swap, that would be ridiculous.

Ok I feel better still I think either we either go big or get picks and prospect I just don't think Rinaldo does enough to warrant losing our depth.

The best goal scorer in the league, Daniel Winnik. He plays tough on the edge and pots in those goals just like Hartnell perfect fit. We'll just take Schenn and a 1st and we'll be good.
