Hawks definitely are the better team but the way we played tonight doesn't reflect it. In this ONE game the stars played more efficiently and were dealt a bad hand

Bye-bye Brunette.. Hello Saad. Brunette got so much top-6 time and brought everyone down. Taking him out, and him alone, makes such a difference. It also helps that both Kane and Hossa look to be in outstanding shape.

Why are you so insistent on this? Not a single person here or anywhere agrees with you.

They played "more efficiently" by giving up more chances, more quality chances and by chasing the puck most of the night? C'mon guy. Even the Stars broadcasters were saying Kari was the only reason why they were in the game. You're so wrong.

Pretty sure the jumbotron doesn't show as many replays as my DVR does.

They showed every penalty that happened and since that is your excuse...well, it doesn't matter that you were there. The penalties were lopsided because the Hawks completely dominated the puck...better forechecking, better passing, better transition, better defense, active sticks and much better decision making. Not to mention being way more skilled and a lot faster.

Speed kills. They have a bunch of 35+ year olds like Jagr, Whitney, Morrow, Robidas playing BIG minutes. Jaromir Jagr 2 PIMs, Branden Morrow 2 PIMs, Stephane Robidas 2 PIMs. Coincidence that their old guys were committing penalties because they were getting out skated? I think not.

Sharp especially. Also helps immensely not having Bruno slow an entire line down and being replaced by Saad.

ZOMG this. And pretty much every single defenseman looks better than himself or the player he replaced from recent years.

That pass looks better every time I see it. It's one thing to put it on target. It's another to have that perfect touch that gives Hossa the chance to line it up.

I just hope it keeps up and this isn't a bunch of guys that came out flying after a lockout. Kid in a candy store kinda thing. Not many teams are allowed this much offensive freedom. Time will tell how good they are when everybody settles in a bit.

Without a doubt, except maybe Oduya, but he stepped it up a bit in the 3rd.

And to think just about everyone was stoked when we landed Bruno as a FA, myself included.

The only real difference in the line-up is Saad and he is moderately fast. The real difference is the transition game. Craw not constantly picking the puck out of the back of the net, and the D-men making smarter plays this year is leading to more transition.

Good win, really thought the Hawks would lose this game, travel, bogey team, no really revenge factor in this game.

Crawford played well again, but was again bailed out by Keith and still had a few AAHHHHH! moments.

For sure it's going to get tougher for Chicago.. but Chicago can tighten up a bit too. They've been sloppy defensviely for parts of the last 5 periods IMO. This team is very talented, scoring shouldn't be a problem.. they need to be able to lockdown defensively and breakout cleanly.. if they do, again, they'll be very good. May need an upgrade/boost in net, but I'm still a believer in Crow.

The hawks' possession game has been amazing this year. The players have said they sense this is i2010 again. I see it too. And the new rules that stop the late-grabbing/rubbing out after dumping/passing really favor the hawks' style of play.

We've seem this before - new tighter interpretation of rules are called early and fade - but lately some have persisted (mostly dangerous hits.) The Hawks are going to dominate most nights as long as the new interference calls hold. Run and gun works for the Hawks; it can go both ways as we saw tonight, but hawks will win that battle nearly every night absent goaltending.

Yep, he's not losing his net anymore and has confidence, simple as that.

I'll give him a pass on both goals tonight... But I'd be lying if I said I had confidence in him. Keith has kept two out of the net himself the last two games that both had him beat.
