Agree. Would like to see him throw some hits and get into the corners.

That's fine and all, but then why call up Vincour? The AHL team still only has 11 healthy forwards with this move, and 100 Degree Hockey didn't seem to think Francis Wathier, despite skating, may still not be ready.

It the move was purely to allow Sceviour some games, You'd think they'd just wait until tomorrow and send him down so both Vincour and he could play in Friday's AHL game.

Like we already mentioned, Dallas is a 30 minute flight to Austin, and the drive is only about 3 hours. There's virtually no danger in only having 12 healthy forwards until Monday.

Poor Sceviour, I really want him to get a real chance.

As long as Vincour plays, this makes total sense:

Quote:

GM Joe says Stars wanted to give Colton Sceviour games in AHL & give Tomas Vincour some time with big club. Vincour could be option Saturday
"Time with the big club" as a healthy scratch is BS I fell for when Brunnstrom was here. You don't develop in practice.

Let's just be honest, this team has no idea to handle players.

Benn

I count four centers not including Wandell, who at this point shouldn't really be considered a center either.

Benn was unsigned at the time of that post, and he isn't playing Saturday.

So there are three if Wandell sits based on the conversation we were having.

That's a line I want to see in the NHL.

Ehh ... I think fire was too strong of a word. They were the best line in Texas, and they were my favorite combo trio on that team. They all played well together.

Well I've had a pretty nasty concussion from my playing days before, but I don't remember ever playing with them

My bad...annoying time zone difference. Benn was signed when I woke up today (Friday).

I have it on good authority that Cin looks more like Subban than Vincour.

I always forget you actually are in Korea.

Why at one point did we all take different flags? I catch myself thinking you forgot to change yours back at times.

I was Isle of Man IIRC.

Layoffs 2009 avatars. They were all pink and all looked the same.

This will be a huge practice:

Quote:
Stars Communications ‏@StarsPR

Practice today is scheduled to start at 11:30 am - media availability for players will follow.
1) Can Jamie Benn practice? I get the idea he can since you're technically paid to play the games. I don't think immigration paperwork holds him up from being on the ice with the team. Reilly Smith had the same issue late-season last year. I know he was traveling with the team while they were sorting it out, and I'm pretty sure he was practicing.

2) Making the assumption that Benn can in fact practice with the team, do they immediately start playing with lines and how they'll look Monday (Benn as top center) or does he skate as the extra guy until Sunday's practice?

3) Jagr ... is he hurt? Who replaces him? If it's Morrow do any fans attending have to be restrained from storming the ice ... ?

4) Is actual change coming to address the deficiencies in personnel decisions? Do we see a token move of just subbing in Rome and potentially Vincour?

5) The PP ... WTF? Is Larsen still the 6th D getting no time on the PP ... the most asinine situation of all for me?

I could keep going because there are so many questions that need to be answered.

If you look at who has taken the penalties, you will see that it is a mix of young guys (Larsen, Benn, Garbutt, Dillon, Eakin) and usual suspects (Fiddler, Nystrom, Morrow). It is definitely a small sample, but I can imagine Gully recognizing the problem that a penalty parade poses and cutting down the responsibility that is given to the players most likely to be penalized. I can't draw any real conclusions from these numbers so far, but Goligoski and Robidas are pretty good at not taking penalties, at least relative to every other thing they have done this season.

The penalty Morrow was Assessed in OT was Horse s***, as were a few others in the game.

That's probably what will happen. Although if Jagr can't go I'd expect to see R. Smith next to Loui and Roy. He's already getting PP and PK time so I think Gulutzan is warming up to him. Then Vincour can play with Wandell and Garbutt on a makeshift 4th line.

Good to hear Jamie's on the ice as well.

Morrow knew what could happen if he did what he did. Was a lazy, selfish penalty that he had absolutely no reason to be doing in the first place.

Agreed that there were small bad penalties last night, but there always is. Still doesn't excuse the team for putting the ref in the position to call them imo.
