Yeah I have been noticing that. It also looks different on TV, kind of gray now like it's not as thick, is that new or is that just me?

I think that's just the bad lighting in Rexall Place

With 4.7 seconds left, the refs panic!

I don't disagree with you. Just need to keep it in perspective to how busy our barn is. It's hard to keep the ice at a high level when it's being taken in and out as many times as it is for other events.

i'm the guy who disliked Yakupov's over-exuberant celebrations in practice...but that was epic. Best goal celebration EVER. Pure, passionate, nothing wrong with that

Great to see the team hang in there and not quit.

I gave it to Kruger for his game management after the last game...and he deserves props for this game.
He called a very good game and had the right players on the ice at the right time.

The hockey gods delivered justice on this night.

Yakupov.
My thoughts exactly

Guy on the radio just had a dynamite suggestion, make it mandatory for the refs to do an interview with media after all games to be accountable for their actions as players and coaches have to.

Great comeback and bounce back game after SJ thumping. Glad that Krueger let Fistric play. Nice to see Yak's celly.

This team needs some enthusiam, it has been a pretty boring, laid back team led by their last couple of captains. Keep the Young Guns rolling and fill a couple of holes and the Oilers are a legit contender.

Wow. What an ending. Terriawful call on the 'no'-goal, great comeback. Love to see how the team didn't give up after that was called off.

Huge change from the last few teams we've iced; we probably would have barely scored one game-tying goal in the last 2 minutes of a game, never mind scoring 2 of them!!!!!!!

On a side note, has anyone found a decent quality picture of the Yak celly? Looking for a potential Facebook cover photo from it.

One thing I noticed about this game is the complete turnaround of the PK. If they played like this against the Sharks it would have been a different first period. Nice play by Smyth, Horcoff, Belanger and Petrell. As well as the D corps.

Anyone else agree that the "instigating with a visor" penalty is BS? I can live with Smid getting the original instigating penalty for starting the fight with Nolan after the hit on Eberle. But to give Smid another penalty for instigating because he did not take of his helmet before the fight seams redundant. And if they put this rule in place to cut down on injuries/advantages to players because of visors, it seams odd to give the penalty to one of the players but not the other when their both wearing visors.

Also I wonder what happens to this rule if a player takes off his helmet before a fight because he wears a visor. Only to fall to the ice and get a concussion or get killed like Don Sanderson. Kind of seams odd to make a player remove a piece of protective equipment and put him in a position that could end his career. One could argue that helmets often come off during fights, but that its beside the point.

Sorry if this was already brought up and to beat a dead horse, but I kind of need to vent/rant...

the face off violation call is ridiculous. its never called! it should be discretionary call. complete bs rule

I loved the Yakupov goal, one of the most memorable moments in the young season, BUT a HUGE amount of credit has to go to Eric Belenger for winning that face off as clean as he did, and to hall for getting that puck on net.

I was at the stefan empty net miss and hemsky goal, saw most of the 2006 playoffs, but this may have been the best game i've ever been to. So happy right now.

Also, great job by the person running the spotlight to keep it on Yakupov as he was sliding.

Pretty awesome to see that he can do that in the NHL. He is a special player, very special.
