Something that is making a huge difference this year, besides the lack of old farts in the top 6, is the fact that Bolland and Kruger are much improved in the dot. Lets us play the possession game a lot more.
And we are all entitled to call you an idiot for holding it. You are clearly wrong. Dallas made a bad mistake on nearly every shift, sometimes multiple mistakes. It was a horrible game by the Dallas skaters by every possible metric.
Agreed. I hope he sticks, and I really want him to get one in the net soon. He's had some great chances, but he's played against some solid goalies and has been stopped each time. But that top line looks "right" with him on it right now.
It's like I was telling everyone this summer.. Saad can make an impact in the game even when he's not scoring. He's a very good two-way player. He can play equally well on your top-line - because he is talented - as he can on your third line in a checking role. A very well-rounded player and yes, definitely a keeper.
And yea, Dallas was under siege. Lehtonen kept this one tight.
Pretty much this. At the 2nd Intermission the SOGs were 30-14 in favor of the Hawks, even though we were down 2-1. Without Lehtonen playing outstanding that game gets way out of hand for Dallas quick.

Yea he seems to already be a smart 2-way player. I'm OK if he ends up on the 3rd line for a stint at some point. Andrew Ladd made a solid living there for us.
Haven't been able to watch the last two games but with work and all, so I kinda just scan the PGT after I watch the highlights. From what most of you guys have said it sounds like we're experiencing a 2010 renaissance of the run n gun aspect of that team. That sound about right?

Hawks definitely got the majority of the calls tonight, but they were clearly playing better than Dallas so at least some of it was probably deserved. Nice win, good comeback. Good performance by Crawford, again made the big saves when he had to. Also continues to be very good in PS/shootout situations.

I'm not willing to say that right now. IMO that's more typical Chicago over-optimism (which is usually followed by our over-pessimism). But this team is playing really well now and looks deeper than many of us expected it to be --- at least so far with most of the NHL playing pretty rusty. We will see how we look when everyone starts playing more sound hockey.
Technically, Crawford did make the save on Eriksson.. it just trickled down his body and he coudn't feel it.
Technically he did not make the save because the puck went in.
Crawford seems to have a lot of these moments when he is gliding backwards and the puck somehow trickles between his pads. He was not great tonight but made a few pretty straightforward saves in the 3rd after the Hawks tied it.

See that's good for us regarding the offensive production but bad in the sense that we don't have a goalie that could stand on his head if we needed him to.
Yes Crawford has been good enough for us to win. But what happens when tonights roles are reversed and it's Chicago who is outplayed and under siege all night. I guess I am ok with good enough but also realize good enough often times isn't and want a goalie like Kari who even when his team is outplayed can steal a W here and there, something Craw just can't do.

His 32 save night against the Blues doesn't matter now, apparently.
