Thornton making those TSN know it all's look like fools ranking him 40th. How can the top 3 assist leader of the past 5 years be ranked 40th? Especially when you look at the some of the players that are ranked ahead of him. And Marleau is not even ranked in the top 50 list.

Stupid rankings fooling rookies like me into drafting Corey Perry instead of Jumbo...

Take it from a Canadian who watches TSN fairly often - those guys are complete tools. They, like the rest of the so-called "experts" pretend that the sharks are non-existent. Everyone seems to only focus on players younger than 26ish years old. The TSN guys obviously focus on players on Canadian teams.

and I also remember the Rally Schwartz and Space's hilariously compressed but still badass gif-laden Spaceballs GDT. I had a Transformers rally too, but I think that came much later on.

How did you manage to dig out that old thread? What did you search for?

edit: Also, jeez, all that stuff was way back in 07-08? I'm getting old. And have been here a long ass time.

That's what reminded me of him.

I still think he was underrated. He was great in 08-09 season, very stable. At least you all agree with me on Irwin on being Jesus Jr.

I searched for a post made by me that contained a handful of words. Like "Joe" "Detroit" and "Interview"

Man, now I'm trying to remember what it was that Semenov did to get first star in that game. I mean, he never scored any goals right (at least for the Sharks)?

Poor Semenov, he never played down his own-goals and retired to Russia in obscurity.

Ironically, I think Boyle has more own-goals than Semenov. This should be on youtube.

Scored 1 goal, but the game he got the 1st star was a 2 assist night.

I actually never hated him for the own goals, and thought it was silly people blamed him for so many. Really it means he was trying to get into passing lanes.

Not that like that stupid Marleau who jumps over opposing shots to ensure they go in

I really liked how the Sharks played in the third. Past teams would have been rattled after going down 2 in the third, but they pushed instead.

I'm also really liking Handzus's play. He's strong on the puck and surprisingly nimbler this year, and that's not even mentioning all his blocked shots and defensive play. He really does look like a changed man, like the guy DW thought he was bringing in when he signed him.

Clowe, on the other hand, looks so bad. i know he has a reputation from starting slow every year (likely due to a poor offseason regimen), but he just looks lost. All he does is enter the zone, stop up on the boards, and just wait to get hit. Normally a guy his size would be able to protect the puck and pass it off, but Clowe stops moving his legs and loses it every time. Whenever he gets the puck on a cycle, he either resorts to that same play or he blindpasses it into a giveaway. He's dragging down the line, which explains why they're often hemmed in the defensive zone whenever they're out. Also Clowe looks slower than Handzus, only a step faster than Murray.

Murray had a pretty good bounceback game, but he's still painfully slow to move and react to plays.

I'm happy the team is winning, but they're winning because the top guys are carrying the load, not because of overall team polish.

I was inspired to dig through my photoshop file and see if I had any old school stuff. I don't have the original rally potato on my laptop (it predates this laptop, meaning it's probably backed up on one of my external hard drives) but I did find this stuff:

including the original rally item: the Rally Pumpkin

Also this stuff:

Plus Marleau is clearly OD'ing on AndroGel, like Randy Hahn. This is where Robinson needs to confer some old timey sensibility,or make players watch 'Sanford and Son' episodes.
