I'll know more in about a month. Even then it still may be unknown.

Personally I think all the pieces are in place although that doesn't guarantee a cup, however I do think the Sharks chances are as good as any other team this season.

a 3rd line that can score when our top-6 is injured/on a cold streak
a 4th line that can troll the other team's top-6 into bad penalties

I am shocked and alarmed to see Scott Gomez mentioned positively multiple times in a thread called " What are the Sharks missing to win the Stanley Cup?".

Yes it's a joke! One of Niemi and Luongo is a proven Cup-winning goalie, and it ain't the guy the OP was rather silly to suggest.

Speed, a good PK, consistency and a full 60 minute effort. Also our top 2 lines may be on fire now but we can't have our 4 lines switching back and forth as to which ones will produce like the way last season was like a guessing game as to who would show up. We played great against the Oilers for the first 20 minutes and for part of the 3rd period, and in Calgary for the 2nd and 3rd (which is understandable coming into a home opener in front of a loud crowd with no exhibition games to shake off rust). I was happy with the win against both teams but we were letting the Oilers back into the game in the 2nd and 3rd and the only reason we didn't blow that lead was because it was too big a hill to climb for the Oilers but we can't sit back on leads like that or even 1 or 2 goal leads and let the other team back into it like that. I think Gomez will help solve our speed problem which is why I'm happy we signed him. Also I think once Burns gets back our PK may improve a bit. Has Stuart played on the PK yet? If not hopefully we can work him into it because I think he could really help improve it a lot. Not trying to sound pessimistic and put a damper on our wins but I'm just hoping we can improve on the things I mentioned.

They're significantly better than last year with the new coaching alone. You can tar and feather me but I'm sticking to that statement.
