Thornton with the EN... 6 goals in the 3rd period.

Yotes were up 3-1 with 7 minutes left... Lose 5-3.

just read this thread and I was kind of confused when I read that Gagne scored but the Oilers won against the Kings

Yakupov acted like they won the cup when he tied it.

Yeah, have to be up at 5:45, so even staying up for the end of the Kings game was later than usual.

Sounds like I missed quite a finish

If you like seeing the Yotes lose, then yes, you did. I also have a soft spot for the Sharks, so it doesn't hurt my feelings to see them win when they aren't playing the Hawks.

And hey, 5:45 is only 15 minutes earlier than when I wake up after the time change.

When he was sliding on his knees across the ice? Yeah, that was pretty awkward I thought.

Gotta love those Russians. I remember Ovi was a bit dramatic with his celebrations as well back in his glory days (still is at times). With that being said though, I love that kind of passion in hockey.

Yeah, good point. Just watched the highlights, Niemi and Smith both made having Crawford look like a blessing.

Yeah, Niemi was not impressive at all. Hard to bash LaBarbera, though, as he's a backup being forced into a starters role right now with Smith injured. Hell, I'd probably rather have Emery over LaBarbera to be honest... he blows.

waits for coldsteel to book a flight to Atlanta to kick my ass....

Looking at the schedule for tonight, definitely some games worth watching. Nucks/Ducks look the most interesting. Would love to see the Ducks drop another 7 on them like the did opening night.

Wild/Wings could be decent, same with Tampa/Ottawa and Canes/Sabres.

Yeah, he's still out with that "LBI."

I watched that game, and the only possible injury that he could have had that night what when a puck got under his blocker, and he grabbed his hand/wrist, went to commercial, and when they came back from commercial he was already in the locker room and he never came back out.

He has some nice numbers as a backup last year. ~2.50 GAA and ~.912 SV% over 19 starts... but I doubt anyone would argue that was because of his performance as opposed to the system and defense in front of him.

Reminded me of Theo Fleury back when I was a kid in playoffs vs Oilers

It's good to know that Russian-born NHL players with passion for the game and interest in things other than money do still exist. Some would say it was an over-the-top celly, but I loved it. Shows he cares.

He slid on his knees from the blue line to the goalies crease.... that's a bit over the top to say the least.

There's an easy way to prevent someone from celebrating a goal.... don't let 'em score on you.

Plus, dude scored an almost last second tying goal. He got them at least a loser point. I'd be damn stoked if a Hawks player did that, too.

He's 18 years old, and his 2nd NHL goal ever was a huge, buzzer-beating, game-tying goal.

He has every right to be stoked like that.

He shouldn't do it every game, but I think he definitely deserves a pass here.

A point's a point.

If he scored a goal that still left them trailing by a couple goals, then yeah.... over the top celebration.

Forcing the game into overtime, though? Celebration's totally legit. We'd all be jumping up and down at home or in the stands or at the bar if we watched Kaner do the exact same thing.

They're playing a game, let's not forget that. Wasn't half of the board angry at Lovie Smith for showing no emotion, but this isn't okay either?
