I know the Flyers just signed Knuble to somewhat fill the void Hartnell left after being hurt, but if he proves ineffective and the Flyers are still competing with similar injuries, would you want to trade for Gagne near the trade deadline if the Kings are out of it? He's got a 3.5 mil cap hit expiring this year and I think the Flyers could have enough wiggle room to squeeze it in at the deadline.
I think he could be had for relatively cheap and if the Flyers are still in the hunt with injuries, he could be pretty helpful.
Or would you prefer to just see the young guys ride the season out?
Nah....I like Simon but too injury prone and would rather use the space somewhere else.
Also...the way the Flyers jettisoned him I don't think sat well with him
True. This would be more of a desperation move if the Flyers were trying to add depth without giving up a lot to a guy with an expiring contract. I'm not advocating the trade unless it's absolutely a necessity we get a winger at the deadline due to injury.

If LA is willing to shoulder some of his contract..maybe. One good thing about the new CBA is having that option.
they should have signed gomez or peter sykora, sykora's cheap he's only $600,000, that guy can score goals, if knuble struggles release him and get sykora.
Man..I swear that experimental procedure he had here when he had that concussion must have contributed to this. He was getting injections of sneaker goop in his neck!

Jason Gregor via twitter: Kings winger Simon Gagne had a tumor the size of a tennis ball removed from his neck in the summer. Headache free now
I didn't realize HF Boards Habs fans were the GM of the team
Gee, man. I didn't realize you had to snark me so bad!
I'm just saying that guys with scoring flare are underperforming on teams and maybe could be had for cheap. But it's really not necesary to be so mean!
Simon had his time with the Flyers and I agree with his age he's definitely more injury prone. Sad, loved the guy when he was healthy and could skate like the wind.
One of my all-time favs on the Flyers, but hell no...he can't stay healthy at this stage of his career. Not even worth trading a 6th or 7th rounder let alone his cap hit.
No from me. He's too injiry prone, he isnt playing in LA right now to begin with.
If the Flyers are going to be spending assets in the form of players or draft picks, I hope it isnt for rentals or players just to fill the roster, but with some more thought put into the acquired players place on the team right now, and moving forward.
