The only thing I am mad about is the use of "celly" in this thread.

People that are offended by a celebration probably are the same people who get mad when they hear a fart. " Oh! That was rude and uncalled for! " LOL.

It was weird to see the call reversed, but it was the right call in the end.

That being said, the celebration was awesome. Epic ending to a fine game. People who only saw the celebration need to watch the whole game to understand.

Drives me crazy. Hasn't the english language been butchered enough?

You know what else I hate? When people call Paajarvi "PRV"! Ugh!

Does it also make you mad that guys like Ryan Rishaug and Thereon Fleury said celly on twitter as well?

Does it make you made that NHL players say it all the time?

not that he will, but a trick? hahaha, he'll probably put on a jet pack and fly right outta the building to get away from his teammates faster.

In retrospect, that was a game for the ages, even as a kings fan

What a side show. They were really showing off the rulebook, eh?

Best thread title edit ever, btw.

Man, the Kings are just full of weirdness this year...from posts, to goals off our own players, to nice banks off the boards behind the net, to last night's **** show. I can't even be mad because I know this stuff equalizes over time, and I generally like the Oilers so it was exciting to see the kids go off.

lol at all the people writing off the champs already, though.

Not like he celebrates anywhere and everywhere.
I hope he does the rowboat against the Flames on the weekend.

Yeah, it's definitely a trend you know? I mean look at his first celebration. He was practically yelling AT his team!

Chill out, kid. It's game 3 of the season, and of your career. Direction of hockey celebration=where soccer celebrations currently are.
If you were there, you'd understand the celebration.

Smid you could argue had:
distance traveled and maybe verbal instigation or threats.

Nolan had:
gloves off first, first punch thrown.

Nolan should have got an instigator as well then.
I would think that the circumstance would have to be taken into consideration. Eberle just got hit...not even that hard....by a legal check. Smid jumps in to defend him. To me that is instigating a fight. Just my take on it.

I hope they make this call every time a legal hit is made and someone feels that they have to "pay" for it. It's hockey...there will be hitting involved at some point.

Of course if an elbow to the head happens, get in there and take care of business as required.

I love Yak's emotion and personality. I can see how other teams fans could be annoyed but the Oilers need a guy like this. The team needs to learn how to have fun and enjoy the game again.

With regard to the celebration....

Over the top...but whatever, nothing to lose sleep over.

My question is this. What would happen if: Quick makes that glove save off Yak in OT, gets up, skates out of his net full speed slides on one knee holding his glove with the puck in it towards the heavens. Skates back to his crease, but not before he drops the puck at Yak's feet.

The shock factor alone would be awesome. But how well would it be received? Players get to go ape **** after scoring a goal, but goalies, not so much.

For the record, I would love to see it. But hey, I'm an old goalie.

This is what happens when goalies celebrate.

Players do it to us all the time, the second of us does it, they can't take it. Crybaby forwards.

Thanks for that....never seen that before!!

There does seem to be a bit of a double standard there....crybabies indeed.

Just imagine what Yakupov's celebration/reaction will be when he scores an OT goal in the playoffs or when the Oilers win the Cup. I think his head is going to explode.

People actually have a problem with posters abbreviating celebration to celly on the internet?

Get some real problems

I would have to agree with this; however, I feel like Edmonton deserved that game. While it was a non-call in front of the net, the Kings had plenty of chances before that point to take the lead. 0-18 on the PP (I think?) so far this year speaks volumes. The Kings fell asleep in the third, per usual, and the disallowed goal was an absolute joke of a call. So good on you Edmonton!

Quick played a great game, but too much complaining from both him and Doughty. They need to concentrate on the game and leave the complaining to Ribeiro.

Anyways, onto the next game. Hopefully we can pick up our first win soon.

He and every other star player on the Oilers will get their heads taken off at one point no matter how classy they are.

Eberle and Nuge have never wronged anyone and they're targeted just the same as Schultz and Yakupov and Hall.

It's time everyone, including the Oilers players, realize this.
