Tried that. It something going on. My wife and I are on different carriers and both have no service. My brother has no service either, as does my boss and his wife. Zip. None. Zero.

Ya. Pretty odd though that so many carriers are experiencing widespread service issues.

Had lunch at the Paddlewheel restaurant at the Bay downtown today. Last day it's open. It was a loooooooooong time ago that I first ate there. Long lineups.

Used to take the bus downtown to do the Christmas shopping. My buddy was an Eaton's guy, I was more of a Bay guy, but we always ate lunch at the paddlewheel.

Forgive me for not shedding a tear for the AMC because they were told that they can't open a new casino in Winnipeg.

Well, they were looking to open a casino in Winnipeg and were told "market saturated, sry...maybe try Fisher Branch." Next thing you know, they're building a casino...er, "gaming centre" in City Place for the exclusive benefit of Mark Chipman...wait, what?

Not for the exclusive benefit of Mark Chipman, considering that the agreement of video slot machines was contingent on Winnipeg getting an NHL franchise again. I'm sorry, but the province and city benefits more from having an NHL franchise than just having another casino built, regardless of who runs it.

Maybe I just don't get it, but why is the government so involved with casino's and gambling anyways? If I try to open a new bar or fast food restaurant in the city do the government have the right to stop me since the "market is saturated"? Stupid IMO, government should have no say if I or anyone else wanted to open up a new business...

I'm pretty sure TNSE could've made the Thrashers-to-Winnipeg deal happen without the VLT revenues - they just had the leverage to extract concessions from the province and city. The return of the Jets certainly didn't hinge on that. Chipman: "Well, we had a deal in place to bring the Thrashers to Winnipeg, but the province wouldn't cough up $4 million in VLT revenues (i.e. 80% of Ron Hainsey's salary for 2011-12) so we ****canned the whole thing." lol

Anyway, I'm not arguing about benefits. I'm just saying that can understand AMC's position that this is a dickish move by the province.

I'm just wondering if someone can please explain how the TSN Jets channel works for me. I was previously under the impression that it was like a Sportnet West channel geared towards the Winnipeg market. But I'm just wondering if it's different from that formation. Is it a channel that runs 24/7 or does it only broadcast when Jets games are on? I'm just wanting to know since I may be confused on how it works.

It only broadcasts when there's a Jets game on (a game not televised nationally by CBC or the main TSN network).

It really only broadcasts the game.
I think they play the tsn 1290 pre game show.

And this season they are doing a little post game show with video interviews, then they play the TSN 1290 radio post game show.

It doesnt run other then that.
It is just a screen that tells you when their next broadcast is

Well, that is kind of bunk, eh? Winnipeg really needs a regionalized sports channel geared towards the market that runs 24/7, similar to what the other NHL cities out west (and likely out east) have. I just don't see why this isn't possible, especially now with pro sports back in town.

What's the 2% of all Provincial revenue for? Certainly doesn't stop them from wanting more.
