Who is he going to replace? Mulder's been Nepean's best goalie of late.

Rivers now appears on Kanata's roster....which means he was probably never carded by Nepean and in Hockey Canada's eyes is a free agent. Nepean must have traded his rights within the league which gave Kanata the ability to sign him.

Interesting, does that not put Kanata 1 over the limit, and since we are past Jan 10th they can not release a player....or does JrA have a different set of rules than Minor Hockey (Hockey Canada) ??

Something is funny here. Rivers has been practicing with Nepeam since the trade. He's also attended their games.

I agree, but I am sure they are operating within "their" rules. It's like CP having an (AP) player who I can't find on any other roster. Which under HC rules is a problem..

Pearson and Martin signed B cards with Perth and Almonte respectively. But you're right, they should appear on those rosters.

It's good to have rules, even if you have to make them up as you go along

Hockey Canada does not require players to be shown on published league rosters. Unless you have access to the Hockey Canada Registry where official lists are maintained you would not know if anything wrong is being done.

Perfect, easy explanation. I do not have access to Hockey Canada rosters and figured there was nothing wrong, it was just not clear. Similar to the Rivers situation. Practice with the team does not equal on the roster.

Since the December 1 trade initiated by SF: SF 6W, 10L in 16G; Kemptville 5W, 10L in 15G. Of course, there are many factors one could look at to justify this...but overall looks like Kemptville won this round. Before the December 1 trade INITIATED BY SF: SF 32G & 7L; Kemptville 30G & 24L. Still looks good on Kemptville!! Let's hope SF can find their MOJO against Kanata tonight!!!

Kanata has till Feb 10th to sign players if they are not on cards after Jan 10. This can only happen if Kanata has not used their 23 cards after Jan 10th. Since they haven't done anything trade wise they may have a card or two left.

Yup, I believe you are right on that point, and as the CJ site shows rite now, Rivers playing in place of Lane who let in three on 10 shots. So Gunners Dad gets him outta Ronjays land, probably pays the 5 K to get him free and ends up in Kanata. Its called politics guys...anyway u slice it. And money.....because at the end of the day its a business......and if you cant make money at it then someone comes pounding on your door to collect....

You seem very sour with Nepean ever since that trade...? Before it was all sunshine and rainbows with the raiders from you.

Every night a shift in the standings, interesting results last night in the battle of slumps SF able to get some scoring and stop the bleeding while Kanata continues to tailspin 7 straight losses since Jan 4th. Very bad timing, seriously what's wrong they made no moves to their roster so should have been sailing along?? PLK got a nice homeice win against Nepean, nice to see Cumberland not laying down with a SO win over OJS and Hawkesbury getting a point from Cornwall, have to think Hawks will surpass the struggling Stallions with games in hand.

Tomorrow has some good potential to impact the standings with Kanata at Nepean, Smiths Falls going to Pembroke and Brockville visiting Hawkesbury every game down the stretch is huge even if it's just to get homeice?

Not true. I picked an SF -OTT matchup in the finals weeks ago.
