lose or win i dont really care, i wouldnt mind a rebuild
Really? I thought this has been done? Beagle replaces Boyd, Hendricks for Bradley, Johannson for Cooke, not sure who for Steckel. Brashear and King redundant and gone.
Hamrlik for Jurcina. Constant rebuilding just messes up the chemistry.
Once Laich is healthy and back we'll be on our way.
Yea I don't understand that either. I mean Neuvy by no means played bad the only one I think he really had much of a chance on was the bomb from the point but other than that he was left out to dry much like Holtby has been in his 2 games this season. Why go with him again tonight is beyond me I always hated going with the same goalie on b2b nights
Brodeur with the shutout and ENG to drive the stake through what's left of the heart of this "team".
When the chips are down, Ovechkin goes into a shell. The one guy everyone is supposed to look to for leadership reacts in the exact opposite way you'd want. Small wonder the team is so fragile. And it's not like anyone else is stepping up to fill the void, including 21.
He wasn't that bad yesterday. Not like it matters, the D doesn't know how to clear the f*ing crease.
I'm not saying he was/is bad...but the Caps lost...handedly to a really ****** team. Granted, Holtby has ben dog **** too, but...you only ride a hot goalie on a B2B.
For ****s sake, I think I hate Oates more than Hunter.
Which is really sad because my hatred for Butch and Hanlon has essentially become an afterthought.

Ovechkin plays well with his back against the wall in the playoffs. He's just a reactionary player. His problem is that he's accomplished everything and doesn't play well until the chips are down at this stage in his career. Whenever he feels that's the case is anyone's guess.
You could see after the Olympics he stopped investing himself in the regular season. It's disappointing not for the lack of scoring titles but the lack of professionalism. Good work habits that the "C" needs to exemplify.
The guy needs to be called out in a big way. Kolzig and McPhee *****footed.

I'm glad Neuvirth is starting. I thought he made some very good saves early on to keep us in it.
Holtby on the other hand, while you can't blame him for alot of goals, certainly didn't make many big saves in those 1st 2 games. Every good chance seemed to go in.
Don't expect to clear the crease when your best crease clearer is Mike Green. Its that bad.
Alzner, Hamrlik, Carlson, Poti..none of these guys even tries to move people out of the way.
I still think Erskine would add an element to the D that we don't have with Kundratek or Hillen. Those guys barely play anyhow so why not give the rockstar a chance??
As long as he keeps beasting in the playoffs who gives a **** about the regular season? The fact that we're struggling in the regular season isn't on Ovechkin, it's on McPhee assembling a team that makes the Flames front office look like they know how a hockey team is supposed to fit together.
Also, I thought Semin was the cancer causing everyone to play like ****. Oops, wrong witch. My bad, carry on.
But don't worry, I'm sure once we kick Ovechkin Semin's way and replace him with Michael Ryder and Dustin Penner everything will be sunshine and lollies, and everyone will play with grit and vigor.

What I meant is that he literally stops talking to people and stares into space. He becomes so focused that he's completely separated. It works if Ovechkin can put the team on his back and carry them to a win. Would be great for basketball. But it doesn't help anyone else.

They won't get there; and Semin is a ****ing baby. Enjoy waving that flag all you want.

I got it. Yeah, he does do that. It wouldn't be a problem if he led by example. There are plenty of HOF leaders who weren't big talkers. But he doesn't. I don't think Ovechkin really understands the nuances of the game that well and it's been masked in the past by his "passion" on the ice. Nor do I think he's really that interested in learning them.
