Line changes would be a bit difficult, but he has a great engine and can really mow people down in the hits department.

If Armia turns into a Veyron, he''ll be the greatest goal scorer like EVAA. So I think you should calm down with your expectations

Actually Grigs comparison with Aston is very good.. they both have IT. Supreme Elegance, I name it.

That was slowgothemo's comparison.

Send him back to juniors, Ruff is ****ing him up. Hopefully we have a new coach next season who understands developing elite talent.

I think the organization is so much better off after seeing how Grigorenko could handle 6:48 TOI and a 3rd period benching. After all, Ruff has the team out there primed for a Stanley Cup run and we can't have a rookie out there messing it all up.

Agreed, we can't have him taking precious ice time away from all our star forwards Patrick Kaleta and Jochen Hecht. Especially not when all of our other centers are doing so well on faceoffs.

Quite obvious he is going to be sent down now, I thought he looked pretty good tonight but I guess Lindy didn't think so since he benched him for the entire third and half of the second period, on top of putting him on the 4th line. Probably for the best that he gets sent down, won't allow Lindy to ruin him for now.

May I quote myself from a few weeks ago?

"I don't see much upside in the coaching staff being forced to groom a #1 center. I'm not very anti-Ruff, but I don't see him as knowing what do to with young, even elite, talent at the center position. He can coach up a bunch of grinders and defensive forwards, but getting the most out of young and offensive minded talent is probably not Ruff's best quality."

I hope Ruff hasn't completely destroyed this kid's confidence. I think going back to Russia until the Sabres get a real coach isn't a bad idea at this point.

Bad idea, he'd probably end up staying over there after experiencing Lindy Ruff.

x2, he needs to be playing against Men in a top six role, not againts juniors. It will probably be difficult now as the KHL is approaching the Play offs and I don't think any team would want him. But his role on a team is playing in the top six, if he can not make the team next season I see nothing wrong with him playing in the KHL for a season or two until he is ready to be a top six player with the Sabres.

This is similar to what Tarasenko did, Kuznetsov is doing (He has been ready for a while..), the likes of Datsyuk spent five seasons in Russia, Malkin spent three seasons, Ovechkin four seasons etc.

Funny how Grigorenko's junior coach is actually open for a NHL coaching gig...

Why on earth would he be allowed by the Sabres to go to Russia?

The way his father and him have been talking about his former team, I doubt he goes back there unless he's forced to.

I see he was benched tonight? Did he make some poor decisions, just a rookie looking night for him or what?

No. He was just not on the top 3 lines tonight. So when Ruff decided to roll 3 lines, he and his line sat.
