How about AK for a 2nd?

If the Habs are out of it in a couple of weeks I'd willing to move Bourque for whatever - a 2nd and Vainonen works for me.

All those except Blum for Nino involve your up and comers netting proven production; seems like a reach.

I don't know that many teams in this league have spare offensive players. Possibly Edmonton, which isn't much defensively and seems like an interesting fit, although it's generally preferred to trade out of conference. I could see you guys prying Hemsky out of them, who is older than their new group of young guns but still dangerous and creative.

Then again, why would anyone help the Preds? The Preds are an agony to the rest of the league, consistently making a dollar out of fifteen cents, playing that tight Trotz style, showing up everybody with the work ethic and the absurdly good goaltending. Make you strong offensively as well? Ack!

Matt Read for 2014 1st round pick

That we'll later trade back to you for Shea Weber.

Someone on the board proposed a Nino for Fedor Tyutin trade.
I would hope Snow would pass on your proposal, for the same reason I think he'd pass on the Nino for Fedor Tyutin proposal.

Vis is not playing pro hockey anywhere at this point. He has agreed with Snow, that he'll join the team after his son's Feb 9th minor surgery.

The Isles reportedly don't want to toll Vis' contract. They want to get his contract over with this season because they expect a lot of players to be available this summer between teams getting under the $60m cap, bought out players and ufas.

So, I'd rather keep Nino, add 1-2 blueline vets this summer and see who among Reinhart, De Haan and Donovan are ready in next season's training camp.

Would you guys have any interest in David Booth in the offseason?

He can play first line minutes and will give you probably 25 goals with that kind of ice time, not stellar but not too shabby either.

For, I don't know.. Mattias Ekholm and a 3rd?

Most of these are lateral moves at best. We'd have to add to Blum to get Nino.

Trading Wilson Watson and a 1st for Kessel seems like a terrible idea. Instead of building around Wilson, Watson, Smith and probably whoever we draft with the first, we build around Kessel and Smith. I thought you said we needed offense, we can't just trade everything we already have up front for one player. Then we're no better then the leafs last year.

Although this says more about our poor offense then anything else. If we had a better group I'd probably be willing to go big right now. We don't though so we can't go and trade half of what we should build around.

Wilson + ROR is lateral at best I'd much rather keep Wilson, he's developing like everybody thought he would last year.

That sounds like a Poile move 100%. A little risky, but definitely worth the risk if it pays off. Price isn't bad either.

There is not a chance the Blue Jackets trade their stud #1 defenseman for Nino alone.

He's on our top line 25 min +0 in four games very steady. Not going anywhere.

Something around Blum and Cammalleri maybe? Particularly if the Flames are out of it by the deadline.

Are you kidding me? You would hope Snow would turn down a Nino for Tyutin offer? You need to watch more western games. That would be outright robbery for the Isle and the BJs would never make that offer. Tyutin is a fantastic D-man.

On topic, since neither of those teams are in the thread title, I think the Preds should rebuild around a number 1C. I know everyone says you need D to win in the playoffs, but without a number 1C teams don't go far either, and Nashville has a much better track record for picking up good->great top 4 D. Weber for an established one, if they can find a team with an excess of number 1Cs(unlikely) or move him for the Sam Reinhart pick in 2014 or even the McDavid pick in 2015

In the Nino thread, the proposal came from a poster who says he's not a fan of either team.

You mean give up our top prospect at a position we are starved at for an often injured 30 year old. Oh boy can we add our 1st too! In his last three seasons Hemsky's played 22, 47 and 69 games. Watson will be good, how good we don't know yet, but we aren't giving him up for an injured 30 year old.

Would you honestly build your offense around Hemsky? Yeah, me neither.

Well considering the Oilers did so when they went to Game 7 of the Finals... further than the Predators ever... I'd say it's not a bad idea to make him a centrepiece even at his "age" (lol)..

Yeah that was only, what 6 years ago when he was only 22 and he played 81 games that year and 71 the previous NHL season. He's 30 now and hasn't had a full season in 3 years. No one in their right mind would trade their top prospect for him and center their whole offense around him.

There are better options out there, hell if I want an injury prone player I'm better off trying to grab Kesler and building around him.

And what does it even matter how far our team has gone. That doesn't have anything to do with wanting or not wanting an injury prone player.

Are we talking about 21 yo Austin Watson? Do you honestly think you're going to build an offense around a second line minor leaguer? Yeah, me neither. If any Oiler fan made a statement like that about Tyler Pitlick it would be a 10 page flame fest....
