Hearing Flyers have contacted Montreal about PK Subban. Question is would MTL be willing to move him and for what package coming back?

And Bergevin being able to match is exactly my point. He's calling Bergevin a ****** and that he's screwing up the process, but at first view it might look a bit like that, but I would wait and see what will happen before calling MB a ******, because there is much we don't know yet. How it will be finalized will give us a good view on MB's work. But calling him a ****** at this moment is just childish and is the display of someone who is frustrated by the situation and needs an outlet for that frustration.

We see a lot of that on HF.
I wouldn't exactly use offer sheets as the barometer for teams interests in a player. They're a rare occurrence to begin with and with some uncertainty about cap implications for next year ie cap going down, most competitive teams are over the threshold combined with their own rfa's ect they need to sign an offer sheet seems unlikely. I don't think a lack of offer sheets re-enforces Bergevin's stance, whatever that stance may be.

The compliance buyouts kick in and give teams some relief, but perhaps some teams aren't committed to those necessarily either and want to evaluate those players in the running for another year. IMO, if the rumours are true, Bergevins position is off, but we don't know with any certainty what the numbers are. I'm willing to give Bergevin a bit a of rope here to see what is done, but if this ever gets to the point of moving PK, I think we'll be able to reflect and conclude the situation was mishandled, however, we're nowhere close to that yet.

Sean Couturier would likely be the piece going back to Montreal for Subban. Btw 2 other teams have contacted MTL about Subban.

Related to that... does anyone know if pre-2013-CBA contracts will be affected by the new cap rules, which would make the Flyers absorb his cap even though Pronger would retire (unless they keep him on LTIR, I believe)?

The only piece I'd want for PK from Philly is Giroux. Although I realize that's impossible.

Just give the man his money. Splurge a little now, and reap the benefits for the upcoming years. A lot of people here act like it's outlandish to invest money for future dividends.

I like Couturier, but I have a hard time seeing anything more than 2nd line upside from him. A good 2nd liner who can play in all situations...but I don't put that value on the same level as Subban. Just my opinion.

Flyer fans can keep dreaming.

There will be hell in Mtl if Subban gets traded there. Especially if the biggest piece coming back is Couturier. Maybe if it was Giroux one for one.

ALTHOUGH... Couturier would be that big talented Center we've been looking for, for years..

6ft3.. only 20yrs old... imagine when he's 23+..

trading PK is stupid any way you look at it. Having a #1 d-man, a true #1, is probably the most important piece on a hockey team nowadays. We have no prospect outside of Subban with the potential to fill that role. We only have Markov on our team, but he's aging. The team needs Subban long term if they want to be successful.

I don't like Holmgren and the Flyers sniffing in our backyard. It seems like every time they do that, an offer sheet follows (see Kesler and Weber).

Couturier isn't enough and there is no way in **** we will get Giroux for Subban.

I would be more interested in dealing with Columbus with their 1st round pick being involved......Johanssen and a 1st sounds good to me

You're a 100% correct. But on the other hand he's one of the most annoying people in hockey! A beautiful conundrum any way you look at it..

Love Couturier, but.... NOT ENOUGH! Especially if we're dealing within the conference. With the friggin' Flyers, no less!!

Only thing worse would be to send him to the Bruins!

Sign him! Sign him longterm. Sign him short term. Just sign the ****ing guy!!!

I hope MB keep telling himself that he was not Rejean Houles. If the Flyers offered Couts for Subban, please do not listen to them. We could not replace PK for the short and long term.

Flyers have 100k in cap space and their goaltending problems are flaring up again. Really doubt they're in a position to make a move like that.

1- ask yourself 'WWRJD?'

2- do the opposite

Problem solved.

They can put a whole bunch of guys (Pronger, etc) to LTIR and free up cap space.
