Adding veteran class to a young cored team is never a bad move, IMO.

Knoobs was never fast... but se up his office and went to work. I believe used right -- you listening, Dale -- he can still Knuble with the best of them... and can take Simmonds under his wing; Wayne is open to it as he stated in the Postgame... Also, he can replace Harts on the PP... which if I recall is floundering at the present time.

And, as others stated here, he is better than the players he is pushing out... IMO, he may very well still be able to play above a 4th Line Role.

Worst case scenario... he becomes a locker-room force once again and a member of the Leadership Group... and retires the way he should, in O&B.

Well at least Knuble is a better choice than most of the other bottom of the barrell scraps out there and we really don't have anybody left to trade.

in all seriousness this is a good move. You know what you are going to get with Knuble. Hes a good guy. Solid in the room and will be another vet to have around the kids. Play him on the 4th line(better options then Shelley and Sestito) and put him on in front of the net on the PP.

Was glad to hear the news, he will be parked in front of the net in the PP, so he doesn't have to do too much skating.

Two years ago, Knuble did get 7 PP goals, but 0 last season in less ice time. I think his offensive contribution will be minor. Still a fourth line upgrade though.

I saw someone say it here, and will just repeat, I don't think they used him "properly" though did they?

His PP time dropped from 183 tot min to 82 tot min. I do not know if it was because he was not producing like he did the prior season only though. He did score 24 goals in 10/11 and only 6 last year. Might just be age catching up to him.

I don't mind the signing, low risk. Not expecting much out of him just hoping he'll get us a couple of goals and be a big body in front of the net on the PP.

Still would have rather kept Jagr for the same role Knuble is being brought here for....I mean the players like G and Jake and many others lobbied the GM to keep Jagr but Holmgren was too preoccupied with his Ryan Howard like swing for Parise, Suter and Weber...unfortunately he struck out big and Jagr and Carle decided to split. Holmgren has had to fill in the the blanks ever since and Knuble's signing is def one of them.

Should we start a poll on what number he'll choose? I'm hoping he'll take #9 but I bet it will be something lame like #23

jagr signed for 4.5 tho. knoobs at 750k. I would have rather kept jagr too especially after you knew he was just warming back up to the NHL. getting comfortable playin with the best player in the game again. i would've signed him immediately after the season but i also didn't think about the whole crazy offer to weber we made either which i still think was an awesome move. sucks it didn't come through but....its a smart signing and he could still knock in 10 goals in this system. things are changing with these older players. its not like it was where these guys were guzzling beer and were done at 35. these dudes are machines. look at chelios. in his case, a 28 yr old has 20 years left. btw, we should sign him next.

That was just 5 years ago and its seems like a completely different era of Flyers hockey.

I just always liked that number and the Flyers rarely have players who wear it. Gordie Howe is also my all-time favorite player as suggested by my name.

its looking like we wont be able to ice a healthy team this year.

not exactly crazy about seeing a 3rd pairing of Gervais and Lilja. or Forster with one of those 2. Especially on the road.

Always liked Knuble, and this team needs some vet presence right now.

He looked good out there tonight. He's obviously in good shape because he didn't look any slower than usual!
