I haven't had a chance to listen to the song yet but I find it hard to believe it even resembles Nirvana for the very reason you gave, no Kurt. His songwriting was too distinctive to replicate.
Even when Kurt was still living, Novoselic and Grohl worked on their own stuff, often times together. Grohl had a number of Foo Fighters songs already completed too. Both offered minimal contributions to song writing in Nirvana out of respect for Kurt's greatness and not wanting to disrupt anything he was trying to do. I'll have to listen to the song when I get home but I just can't see how it could sound like Nirvana or be considered a disgrace to the band. Kurt encouraged those guys in their own work and wanted them to help more with the songwriting in Nirvana even though they were reluctant. I think he would have wanted them to keep playing together and making music. Now, if it is in fact some kind of knockoff of Kurt and Nirvana's sound, I will probably change my tune but I find that very hard to believe.

Hell no. They wrote the song a few posts up for Grohl's new film. Sounds nothing like Nirvana, and this isn't a new group called "Sirvana" or whatever. This was a one-time collaboration that pumped out a damn good tune.

Listening to UK alt and AUS alt music. I'm liking what I hear. Alt-j is damn good and so is everything everything. The us could learn a few things from oversees. Also the song tonite by spiderbait is just fantastic. So good.
Its impossible to be down listening to the upbeat music of area 7 but it sounds like an adult version of the wiggles tbh.
This has opened up a brand new world to me.
