gotta love the lies spewed by al strachan. after watching the satellite hotstove i had to post this. apparently he is under the mistaken impression that the oilers fans have turned on lowe or are doing so right now. hold on this is the good part, eric duhatshek from calgary said according to the internet polls lowe has 90% support. well well well eric states a fact while al spews garbage, what a surprise.
Eric Duhatschek had a really solid take on the Oilers' side of it in the Globe and Mail last week too. Good article that presented both sides with balance, and his comments on Hot Stove tonight reflect that as well.
As for Strachan's theory that many Oiler fans are turning against Lowe, it's obviously false... unless Terry Jones' mass is enough to make him qualify as multiple people.
I heard today on sportsnet that Comrie will NOT be traded to the ducks because murray won't give the Oil a good enough deal.
He also told me that he read a Comrie/Ferguson for Chistov/Vishnevski rumor on ESPN's site earlier in the week. I went to look for it just now, but had no luck. Anyone else get a chance to see it for themselves?
Anyway, I just watched Satellite Hotstove on CBC's site. Strachan is a complete idiot.
Yes, I would agree that Strachan is a no talent bum clown. He really has no idea what he is talking about.
I loved it when *forget his name* said (rather angrily) "forget about that stuff Strach". It was great.
*forget his name* was John Davidson, IMO the most credible one on Satellite Hotstove with Duhatschek (Are you reading this?) running a close second. Strachan has been spewing garbage all year on Hotstove.

If you have poll with a two person sample consisting of Jones and Brownlee, is the hypothesis that Edmonton has turned against Lowe statistically valid?

Well seeing as Strachan works for the Toronto Sun, that idea sure as heck wouldn't suprise me in any way shape or form.
The funny thing about Strach is that he is never shy to prevent his arguments from getting watered down with trivial things like facts and truths.
Ah I by no means like what the strach is cookin but I have to say alls he said was that the public support for Kevin was swaying a bit. Which is true. it was at i'd say 95% for Kevin (5% being commrie inner circle and 12 year old girls in Edmonton). Now after the pay as you go thing it is a little less then that, i'd say 85% for Kevin (15% for the commrie inner circle, 12year old girls and then new 10% is all from Terry Jones).

good one watts loved when davidson more or less told strachan, to well shut up. seems to me overall, the fan that is informed and has a decent grasp of the business side of the game believes this was a gutsy move by lowe, however a move that was necessary. for me the average fan it is a hope that this move may help save the game we all know and love.

nope, the sample size would be much too small for your population, your samping error would be through the freaking roof,..... i know you were kidding, but thought id post anyhow

This is the kind of deal I'd like to see. I admit I was one who wanted Lowe to trade Comrie sooner rather than later, but what the Ducks were offering just didn't cut it. I even amazed that Lowe "agreed" to it allegedly last Sunday. How much does B.Murray want Comrie anyway.
You know, maybe the reason why the above deal mentioned didn't go down sooner is because the Ducks and Oilers were playing tonight. Comrie would probably not be a factor because he hasn't played in a while but Chistov and Vish could hurt their former team.
Strachan is about as smart as a chair. He looks like a fool on HNIC. When he talks, rarely does Davidson and whoever else is guesting agree with him.
Does anyone else think that Strachan is just there for comic relief? Sort of like Dennis Miller on Monday Night Football? Scratch that, even Dennis Miller had better insight into the world of sports.
